Do you enjoy masterwork horror with the best direction, writing, and editing? Then may I recommend When Evil Lurks, which is a rare example of extremely graphic, scary, horror that’s in no way grindhouse, torture porn, or gratuitous. What happens isn’t for thrilling grindshock—it’s actual terror consistent with its universe meant to crack your soul. This movie clearly says “it’s going to get worse for everyone” then things get worse.
Compelling, tense, and serious from the first minute. You won’t be able to look away and not just because it’s subtitled. It commands attention and wants your soul.
