Oh dear.
I'm in a bit of a pickle...
I have a friend who is a pa, and works with a certain girl group. I'm actually quite good friends with one of the girls and I'm going to be designing a tattoo for her and this is where things start to get tricky. They group has a new single out which they're understandably very proud of. It's a cover of a classic, which in itself initially made me wary. I feel the only time it is okay to cover or remix a track is if you are actually contributing something to the piece. Their version of this track does nothing to the original except subject it to a serious mangling.
When I next talk to my friend, if she asks what I think, how should I respond? Normally, I remind her that I don't listen to chart music (one reason I'm not totally star-struck by her) so I'm not the best berson to ask.
But.
This time I have heard their audio-sodomy of a classic track, so what do I do? Do I
A) Lie and say "I haven't heard it yet"?
B) Lie and say "I think it's great!" or
C) Do I tell the truth and say "I think it sucks and is a travesty of the original. I stopped playing it half-way through and felt like I needed to wash my ears. I'm glad I only downloaded it, because that means I didn't pay money for it"?
Now, I don't think C is the prefereble option, as I really don't want to hurt these girl's feelings,(especially the friend who I'm designing the tattoo for) but I don't want to lie to them either...
Advice anyone?

I think it's cool that you design tatoos, I'm thinking of trying that myself, maybe even inking. Do you do the actual tatoo's?
