I watched the President speak tonight. I think he had at least three teleprompters...and it showed. Tom Brokaw actually told us what color Bush's tie was ( as if I care) and just like studio audience monkeys, congress stood up and clapped after every fucking sentence. The best part was the clip of Ted Kennedy, just snoozing away...I think he knows something we don't.
Perhaps I am being too critical, after all I should be supportive, considering that we are on the brink of a "small" war within the next couple of weeks. I don't know how our president has the time to plan, what with the economy, the aids crisis, healthcare, education, the ballooning deficit, the rising unemployment, all of his friends being brought up on charges of corporate fraud,his shares of oil stock,Terrorism, israel, Palestine, north korea, congress....and his rigorous exercise regime. And to think, some people still believe that the president is really running things. Its all about money and business, and sometimes war is a necessary means to achieve it. I am not an advocate of war by any means, but to believe anything else is a bit naive give the state of human nature over the last few thousand years. Bush is doing what any president would do....he is pacifying us in the face of necessity, only he doesn't lie as well as the morons we have had to live under in the past. And if anyone doesn't agree, let them walk on over to my house and we will light a candle in remembrance of the ESCALADE. Tax break my ass.
