do you ever go out to see a band, expecting magic, but in return, all you receive is that silly splitting thumb trick?
that was my night. surrounded by pretentious people that are there to be seen. they went there to say they were there - to see a mediocer band, not even a good one. damn the indie scene here is weak here. hence the lack of sg members in my current locale.
everyone was checking eachother out, not even noticing the either kick ass electro band ( one part ladytron, two parts the faint) or the really nice shark quest, rather entertaining instrumental band.
yet everyone clapped furiously for the local record store owner's band - which blew ass, your run of the mill indie rock formulaic blah band. with probably the worst lyrics i have ever heard.
ok, well tht was a non-typical entry on my part.
i hate this town. don't ask me why i don't just leave. ( eww, double negative, or was it?)

i hate small town hipsters. half the shows end up being come sort of indie kid popularity contest. and believe me, i can empathize with you.
