There are two fences, a primary fence that encloses the exhibit, and a secondary fence which keeps zoo patrons on the marked path. Between the two fences is a service area of sorts, about three feet wide. Somehow, the alligator managed to find itself between the two fences. We think he got into a fight with one of the other gators, and from there managed to flip himself over the fence. Either way... it made for a very interesting morning... All is well, at least for now.
