Vincent Van Gogh.... known as over zealous, passionate and opinionated. He was an outcast amongst his peers. His style was not exactly like everyone else's. He was uncouth and the people in the town he lived in wanted him to move away. He wasn't a follower but a leader,...a pioneer. Who would have thought his insanity was a reflection of his genius? Now, the true artist.... and impressionism, a foot note to his story. All modern art since has been touched by his influence. Thank you Vincent for not following the flock down that dead end road but instead to think for yourself and passing on your gifts to the ages. There was also a story about Bill Hicks as told by Jay Leno. Jay said he was giving a comedian seminar at a local comedy house near Bills hometown. Bill Hicks stomped out. For years Bill ridiculed Jay for selling out. However to this day, Jay says that he always knows the best comedian in the room by which one stomps out. Bottom line, be true to yourself and you are an artist. The rest only imitate each other. That's not art at all. An artist that needs a following to pat them along only means that they can't stand on their own two feet. This includes painting, music, photography, etc. Censorship.... well we all know what that is. Monkey like hierarchies, haven't most of us evolved beyond this? What a shame, what potential wasted. Thanks for reading my blog. Have a good one. As you live through your day, question the system.
