what i like about billy joel, is that i really feel like he is telling me a story, that he is singing about real people, about real life things. piano man, wow...now that just puts you right there.
plus, his words can be empowering, strengthening....
sometimes you just have to say "i dont care what you say anymore this is my life! go ahead with your own life...leave me alone!"
from "honesty" to "allentown" to "we did'nt start he fire" to his sheer joyous irreverence performing the beatles "back in the USSR", in MOSCOW! joels introspection, his questioning of the values and the feelings we share in love, with the world, always challenge and excite. He pushes the envelope as an artist, while being a genuine craftsmen as a song writer.
and the guy can sing the hell out of a beatles tune.

I'd like to hear what you've got to say about Michael McDonald.
