I'm back to school this week, well, part time at University of Nebraska Omaha. Only two classes this semester, as I'm still working full time. I've got a year left on my contract, then I'm quite sure I'll be able to support going to school full time. This time is more of a transition for me. And I'm going to be really fucking busy.

Fortunately...

My social life is fucking dead lately. There's a lot of reasons for that. New town. Working horrible hours (11pm - 8am). Haven't really met any interesting people. My own fucking bizarre social anxieties.

Olbermann gets tryout on primetime NBC slot.

TV Newser reports, "Countdown with Keith Olbermann is getting a tryout on NBC." Countdown will air before NBC's broadcast of this Sunday's pre-season game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers. Since America's policy is now "pre-emptive strike[s]" against "terrorists", shouldn't the Department of Defense change it's name back to the Department of War (or at least the Department of Offense)?

Here's a band you definitely have to...

He had no choice it was the only way.
Death's comin' and he's still running. And stuff.

Seriously, Age of Assassins on that record is probably my favorite song of 2006. It was a bit of a theme song, if you will.

If I recall correctly, you were in the military, but I can't remember if you were in Iraq.

My new favorite place in the world, or at least in Nebraska, is The Slowdown.

The new YYYs! song has been in my head the last couple of days. I really like the video too:

After a year in Omaha, I'm pretty depressed about the lack of meaningful social relationships I've been able to develop here (basically zero). Besides the weather, it really makes me miss the UK. Way better than the three years I lost living in Texas though.

Of course, I'm living on the culturally devoid, yuppie side of town. I may move across town here soon.

Regardless,...
