I just got back from my first ever Coachella, and I've got to say, it's probably the best music festival I've ever been to, in my opinion. Even though I missed the first day due to airport delays, the weekend dates with the Arcade Fire (Saturday) and Rage (Sunday) head-lining were fucking incredible. Speaking of, I've got to say the Arcade Fire is probably the best live show I've ever seen. However, my favorite band of the weekend was one of my favorite bands of the last couple years, Against Me! First time I've had the opportunity to see these guys live and they defiantly live up. My only complaint was the short set, but unless you're a headliner, you're not going to get more than an 45-50 minutes. Saw many other bands and gave myself the chance to honestly explore new music, but I'd have to say the rest of my favorites included bands I was already pretty familiar like The Kooks, Kings of Leon, and of course, Rage.

Speaking of Rage, I could defiantly tell they were rusty. However, it was still a fucking incredible show. Maybe it's just because I've been listening to their music for years and years now, and hearing them live again was awesome. I was just a bit stage right about halfway between the stage and the sound engineers, in the middle of one of the biggest pits I've seen in a long fucking time. It was awesome. I did expect more Bush bashing from Zack or Tom (though Tom did plenty of that during his "Night-watchman" acoustic set a day earlier), but they opened with a simple, "We're Rage Against the Machine from Los Angeles, California". Zack addressed the crowd once on politics, and it wasn't particularly about Bush but about how we allow this broken system to continue to put people like Bush into office. Spoken like a true revolutionary.

But staying on music instead of going to politics, biggest disappointment, Red Hot Chili Peppers. I've never been a big fan, but I've always liked them, until Saturday night. Their sound was flat and they were boring. These guys should probably call it a day, but hey, that's just my opinion.

Anyways, here's some White People for Peace:
