It seems odd to me that apparently, most people are content to live their lives out by a preconceived notion of the way things are supposed to be. It bothers me that, over conversation at work, most people wouldn't dream of subsidized health care in America, or sharing a bag of powdered doughnuts with a crackhead downtown, or looking at the "WAR" (capital letters only, for that one) from an Arabic point of view. When I'm standing there at work, bored out of my mind and wanting to be miles away doing anything but what I'm doing at that point in time, I just start talking about whatever pops into my head, and could care less if I offend anyone along the way.
Initially, conversation was centered around movie trivia, because everyone was talking about what they'd seen lately and such-and-such. I had been thinking about "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" for some reason... The part where they all go to the nice restaurant and the snooty, elitist waiter guy won't let them in, so they have to set it all up with fake phone calls and such... I couldn't remember the so-called "Sausage King of Chicago's" name, and it was bugging me in the back of my mind.
Yes, I know this is really, really stupid, but once I get something in my mind, I have to keep at it until I'm satisfied in some way...
Later on, I found out that his name was "Abe Froman". Yep. Good old internet wins again. Man versus machine. Personal knowledge didn't stack up well against meticulously maintained database searches. The machines seem to have a pretty good track record so far.
I'm thinking that whoever reads this is most likely thinking I'm completely stupid right now, so I'm going to go to sleep now. Insomnia wins again and I'm really feeling a cigarette at this point in time.
Also, it occurs to me that last night, or yesterday morning, depending on how you're looking at things, I said (in this journal/blog) that I couldn't stop looking at Angeline's photoset. The funny thing is, some of the people I work with/know outside of work read that, and they were asking me, "who's that?". All I could do was laugh. I don't think any of my coworkers/friends are on SG, so...
I guess it sucks to be them, in this instance anyway... And yes, I'm still digging Angeline's photoset too. I'm just a DORK like that. (Notice the capital letters. When I take the time to hold down the "Shift" key, you know it's damn important...)
Hahaha....
In a few minutes, my day will begin, sort of... Tortilla chips. Cigarette. Play with cats. Read a bit more of "Story of O". Cigarette. Sleep. Wake up. Cigarette. Laundry. Cigarette. Shower. Work.
A bientot, et bonne nuit...
