another day spent making caffeinated beverages for complete strangers has passed by and i still feel the same as i did yesterday.
i got stopped in my car again today, on the way to work, for my registration tags. this time, i didn't get a CITATION (gotta make that clear, as it's not a TICKET - or so they say), but the cop (it was a guy this time) told me that i need to get it taken care of first thing tomorrow morning. i don't know, maybe i will, maybe i won't. depends if i'm able to wake up early enough. fuck the police. maybe they're doing good somewhere in the world, but not in fucking fayetteville. fuck.
whew. done venting there.
anyone ever read "sarah" by j.t. leroy? it's different, but it's pretty good. i picked it up from work today, and i plan on reading it after i finish reading "perfume" (this being the 3rd or 4th time). i heard somewhere that it ("sarah", not "perfume") is based on real events that the author actually went through. i also heard someone is making a movie of it sometime soon, or at least trying to make a movie of it.
aww. "my" cat, skeeters, is asleep on my pillow with a rubber band hanging from her paw... silly cat with her thing for rubber bands.
surprisingly, majority of the people who came into my work during my shift were actually pretty nice, or at least civil to us, the coffee-server people, "baristas" if you will. most of the time, all the mean assholes come out on sunday, cos unless you work in retail/food, you're probably off on sunday. let's not forget the church people either, fayetteville being firmly planted in the bible belt of america. you would think that people coming from church would be extra nice and, you know, sort of feeling the whole brotherly love thing, but nope. i've been working where i am for more than 4 years (fucking sad, i know) and the church people here are some of the rudest, meanest fuckers you will ever meet in retail.
i usually loathe going to work on sundays, but today was pretty all right as far as sundays go. (aside from getting pulled over.) all in all, not a bad day.
in about an hour, i guess my night will be starting. fun...

I love that book, esp his scent palace (wish I had one!) and after I read it, I finally understood the lyrics to Nirvana's Scentless Apprentice.
I borrowed Camus' The Stranger about a month ago and had to return it before I got a chance to read it. Now that I have seen it listed as one of your favourites, I might make more of an effort.
