as for the bubblegummers... ...nothing is more annoying than highschool kids that can't handle their high. furthermore, when the people who are with the kids who are out of their mind aren't watching out for them they get pinched by the cops and fuck up everybody's time around them. i hate bad friends. be a candy raver if you want to. i've been a raver (noncandy) for about 11 years now and i've been a DJ for about 5. i am into the music and the scene more than you'll ever know. BUT, when i see thugs fighting at events that they shouldn't even be at, it pisses me off. a rave, especially one of this caliber, shouldn't have a bad vibe. this one did. i was let down in that respect as well. maybe the scene has changed. maybe it's full of people who have never heard of any of the DJs. maybe it's full of people who listen to electronic music because that's the cool thing to do. maybe it's full of people who don't like the music unless their high. if so, the scene has let me down. (san diego especially)
i've partied all over the US, Europe, and the Pacific. never have i been to a place with so many gangsta' wannabes who are trying to be hard.
now in Nocturnals' defense:
- i was impressed with the DJ line up.
- i met a lot of really cool people.
- i appreciate the fact that it was even held, good and bad issues alike.
- find another event of that magnitude in our area. nothing comes to mind.
just because i found some faults (in my opinion) with the venue does mean i'm not into the music or the scene. i have such high expectations for the music and the people because i want them to be as passionate about it as i am.
