Someone finally did what so many of us have wanted to do for so long:

The homesickness hit me hard the other night. I caved and called my mom and she happened to be reading in my bedroom. She said she'd been thinking about me that night and went through my books (and I also happen to have the best bed in the house). She...

It was so pretty when I left this morning! Sticking to the bare tree branches. *sigh* Nothing but rain here at the jersey beach.

these days we're taking on gay girls only, just because we can.

My Atlanta travel diary:

Thursday:
-I slept in, threw a few things in my carry-on, and went to the airport in my godfather's plush ride.
-Met an adorable redhead on the plane (actually, as we were exiting, which was odd since we sat together).
-Marveled at all the trees and the gorgeous red & yellow leaves everywhere. Atlanta's still pretty.
-Got to ride in my...

WTF snow? I just got heavily snowed/sleeted on during a quick walk from Smithsonian to restaurant. So how does an Atlantean/Luso-American cope with all this frozenness so early in the year? You tempted to head to sunnier climes?
alzy:
That's always a good thing!

Last night I got a call from my mom about my grandma's health. I was really bummed and it was hard to sleep, so I listened to the Somewhere in Time soundtrack over and over. I really wish my mom wouldn't tell me when my grandma's not doing well when I'm far away. I feel guilty for not being with her, but I know I...

This past Friday was my one month anniversary living here in New York!smile Some of the SGNY folks got together and we had tapas and saw Grindhouse on the big screen. I had a blast, and then Saturday hung out for a going away party. This weekend I met so many nice people, and I got to see some friends I hadn't seen in a...

I love the smell of clean laundry! I hate folding clothes but today's laundry day, so I've been watching Be Kind Rewind while cleaning my room and washing my clothes. I got back from Tabi's place, where we spent last night drooling over the hottie cast of True Blood. I loved Summer Heights High, too. It was good to have a night of tv...

since you seem t think that sgatl is so amazing only show's the fact that you've never hung out with the SGFL crew! debauchery tends to be the name of the game with us.

yeah I completely forgot that I had that quote up, I had to go look it myself. and alas no I've never been to one. probably the only way I'll make it to one is if someone keeps reminding me about it.

Good times!
Hangover, but it was okay smile

Eh, I know there's the normal stuff to be nervous about but I mean...

I'm so, so, so, so scared he's gonna be a target. I was afraid when he was running that he'd be another Bobby Kennedy, and now I'm even more afraid that he'll be another John F. Kennedy. I wouldn't be able to handle it. I'd absolutely not be able to handle it. I would lose all faith in the country and probably have to get far away from it.

Speaking of: Bogota would have been fun, but I got a terrible fever on the flight down, and it stuck with me all the way home :\

I'm so excited. This time around Election Day feels like Christmas, and it's great. I just hope it goes off without any of the scenarios conspiracy theorists have put forth, like the whole death of posse comitatus thing (thanks for scaring me even more, Naomi Wolf).

New Jersey was a blast.biggrin Tabi had me over to her house for a fabulous dinner of bacon-wrapped chicken...

I had the most lovely dream that I was with most of my family last night. I talked to my dad forever last night, which is probably what inspired it. A few years ago I moved to Houston from Atlanta and lived with him for a year (the company he worked for offered me a higher-paying job). That was actually when I joined SG; the...

that ^ was a response to the Jersey thing not the blog. FUCK I hate this new layout on SG. H-A-T-E it.

and I tried to edit the comment, but apparantly my editing time ran out so I lost the comment too. ugh.

mostly I just said that I'm glad that you have been able to reconcile with your dad somewhat and that I'm sorry you had to go thru that. I like to think I'm a fairly even keeled person, but I don't know if I could have taken that kind of thing from my stepmother and not gotten all physically violent upside her face.

*hugs*

I feel like the littlest thing that ever was.

At the same time, I'm happy to be here. I can't complain about the way things are going. I want someone to grab me and shake me and hold me against them. I didn't realize how important physical affection was to me. It hasn't been that long at all since I slept with someone, and that's...

The universe is smiling down on me:

Tomorrow night I'm dancing my ass off at Santos with a good friend from Atlanta.

My job, coworkers, and boss all kick ass.

I have a place to sleep tomorrow night.

Walking all over this city is better than a gym membership.

My belly is full.

Caveat: no male visitors at my new place. WTF?! What am I...
