I finally have found how much I can do without cracking.I had to come home from work today because I was exausted to the point of collapse.Sucks getting old, means I'll have to start scaling back on what I'm doing so I can get more than four hours of sleep a night.I've got a few ideas what to drop but if I was able I'd like...

When do you know if you've crossed that fine line between keeping in touch and harrasement?
I've got a friend who I phone on a weekly basis but never get a chance to talk to her.I reach her no problem but she's always on the other line or heading out. When she says she'll phone back she never does.I've asked her point blank if she dosn't...

I recieved a pakage yesterday from the B.C.O.U with mixed feelings.
It's a university level course, Introduction To Philosophy, that I had registered for a few days ago in order to start using my mind again.
The job I work at now isn't leading anywhere and I've had enough of it.Most of the people I work with spend all day whining about how crappy the...

Merry Chistmas to everyone hope you have a great day.I get to deal with the family tradition of pretending we're all in the same house as we stake out our own seperate area and spend the day there. It ain't social but it cuts down on fighting.
I got invited to hang out...

I've realised that the job I'm currentley doing isn't going to lead anywhere and I've had enough of it.Most of the people I work with spend all day whining how crappy the job is without doing anything proactive about changing their situation. That's not me.
I've been out of school for so long that I felt doing this course would prepare me mentally before I start persuing a diploma, probably a trades course.
I'm looking forward to digging into it because I like to learn but must admit the words exams and assignments kind of make me nervous. confused

People sometimes ask me "Why are you always thinking about worker's rights? It isn't that bad here."Let me explain what happened where I work today and you decide.
One of the employees drove a forklift into a natural gas pipe that runs through the warehouse I work in and broke it.He didn't realise what had happened at first and continued on.About half an hour later he...

Going to my Aikido dojo's Christmas party tonight.Should be lot's of fun they are all good peeps.
Shitty thing is that it's a potluck dinner and my idea of cooking is prepackaged food thingies. The wife of our Sensei made it clear that she wants everything to be homemade,I think she was looking at me when she said this.
What's the website for The Food Network?...

Yeah, jurisdiction is a big mess for int'l law. There are a whole lot of things that are plausibly 'illegal' (esp. war crimes), but there's no one really with the authority to do anything about them. The ICC was supposed to be a move in the direction of a stable jurisdiction for war crimes, but the U.S. has hamstrung it from the beginning, and many other countries (e.g. France) are claiming exceptions and reservations. One possibility I'd forgotten was that they may set up a hybrid Iraq/international ad hoc tribunal, like they've done in Sierra Leone. My money is still that the U.S. will push for an entirely Iraqi tribunal, though.

And re: sham. I'm very worried about this. On the one hand, getting a robust system together takes time. On the other hand, it'll look just as bad to keep Hussein in custody for a long time as to have a questionable trial.

Remember: if you open more than one can, it's cooking.
galvagin:
I stole the line from a friend, so you can steal it from me, sure.

Given the jurisdictional issues with the ICC, yeah, I think an ad hoc tribunal would probably be the best that could be hoped for - it could be set up faster than a fair Iraqi trial could be (though, if I could wave a magic wand, I'd rather see that... there's a long story in there about jurisdictional priority, but I'll spare you). But given this administration's hostility to international fora, my money's against it (they're not even very happy about Clark testifying against Milosovic at the ICTY). Who knows, though - maybe they'll do it as a way of throwing the UN a bone.

My best friend just broke up with her girlfriend, hell they were married for all intensive purposes. frown
This really sucks.I always looked at their relationship as a constant in mess that is my life.
Havn't had a chance to hear the gory details but I told her that I'm here for her and I guess that's all I can do frown

Sometimes I HATE the transit system in this city.I went to The Supersuckers show tonight and didn't see them at all.
I knew my chances of watching them play were alomost zero,I was really going to see the opening band the Rod Iron Haulers because an old freind of mine plays with them and I've being promising to come and see them play.

There's this woman I've known since high school. She is the sexiest and most unstopable force I have ever known and she knows I feel this way about her.
So I went to her work today and asked her if she'd like to go out for dinner some time after the holiday seasons over(she manages a clothing store, busy busy time of year).
Good news she said...

Over at a friend's last night to start recording his band. It's been a year since we've done any work together and I was a wee bit rusty.Great guy,not so great musical tastes(the poor man still thinks eighties hair bands are what the cool kids listen to these days) but I'm pretty obsessive when it comes to recording and have never let my own dislike of...
