I want to thank all of my friends from the bottom of my heart who helped me get through this past week. You made a very difficult time less painful. I am extremely grateful.

As for you Lyrical. You gave me your time and, your friendship when I needed them the most. The feelings you expressed toward me as a friend and a human...

So true. I hate how politicians show no leadership but then start blaming everyone.

I hope it was a good and healing trip.

I am so pleased all of the undecided voters are liking what Barack has to say. It seems these folks just never heard him before, which is hard for zealots like us to understand.

As for the debate, I can't add much to what she says wink

Two days from now will mark the third anniversary of the worst day of my life. On September 23rd, 2005 my wife, Annette, passed away. She was only 59 years old. We were married for almost 32 years. We had two daughters together. She was the perfect wife and mother.

I've been alternately sad and angry for a while now anticipating this horrible day. To...

yes! she has told me a great deal about you, and you seem like a genuinely amazing person, which honestly is hard to come by these days.

also, i hope yesterday was good for you mentally, physically and emotionally. i tend to supress a lot of my emotions and it's made me a very cynical person, and i regret having become that way out of habit. i hope you have a great vacation in north carolina, and recharge and reconnect with your family. sometimes you need to go back to your "roots" to remember who you are.

Hey Brother, I'm in no way a Sox fan... but I would ONLY want them to do well for you. The Twins got them against the wall but the Sox have and can come back.

ALL THE BEST. biggrin

I attended my third SGNY event this past Sunday. It was a picnic in Central Park. I had already met the SG members who were there. It was good seeing them again. I did get to meet a few non-SG people, who were very nice.

It was unseasonably hot and humid, so shade and hydration were a must. I have to thank Vimes for coming...

Sounds like your game and your picnic were awesome biggrin biggrin That is SO cool...and I'm jealous cuz I'd love to have an active group around my house. I don't know very many people around here that even know what SG is! eeek eeek

Lots of loves to you, hope all is well kiss kiss kiss

I've been alternating between sadness, confusion and anger for a week now. I know what the main reason for these feelings is. I'll talk about it when the time comes.

Yet, there are other, more complicated reasons for my condition. Things I am desperate to talk about with a certain friend, and not with anyone else. That friend is not available to me for a...

I attended an SGNY event last night. It was a celebration of Makeupandsin's birthday. While I wanted to go, I was somewhat reluctant. I wasn't sure I would fit in all that well. I had some concerns about fitting in with all those young people that would be there. What finally convinced me to go was that Lyrical suggested that I should.

Of the...

Spent part of yesterday afternoon with Lyrical. After having lunch, we took advantage of a beautiful summer day in New York City and walked to Bryant Park and sat and talked. I brought a bunch of pictures from my family's recent visit for her to see. We also confirmed the date for our trip to Yankee Satdium next month to see her Yankees play...

I am so happy to have met you. Please come out to more events; we aren't too bad. Lyrical is the biggest sweetheart.

You missed the boy tonight, he came out after work. Him and Lyrical are a little too of the same. They tend to fight and beat the crap out of each other, tongue But we kinda had a kinda civil dinner together.

Whatever that means. :X

Word!

Just a quick note to say that I am honored to have my marriage to Flashmo compared to that of yours with your late wife! I am often blown away by the references that you make of her...sounds like she was something quite special hun love If it makes you feel any better, I understand what it's like to lose a spouse...my first husband died when I was 19 surreal We were highschool sweethearts, and he commit suicide when we'd been just married for six months. I know it's not quite the same, you and your wife were together for much longer...but I guess I am saying that I understand the hole in your soul that a spouses death brings.

Much loves to you doll! kiss kiss kiss

What a fantastic ten days. My daughter, Ellen, my grandchildren, Alexa and Bailey, and my son in law, Patrick, headed back home to North Carolina earlier today. Along with my other daughter, Heather, who lives here in New York, I got a chance to get away from the tedious everyday routine I'm used to.

Activities included an amusement park, a Mets game, the Bronx Zoo...

I don't see how anyone couldn't like and be supportive of Lizabeth. I'm glad that I've managed to trick her into thinking that I'm a nice guy biggrin .

I've seen your comments on her blog and from what I've read you do seem like a really nice guy. I look forward to talking to you more.

Ha! It has taken me ages to make blogs that short an impersonal. I deleted a ton of blogs previous on the site, and all were long something or anothers. Then I realized that my second ex husband was keeping up on all of them, then so likely was my company, that I quit being...so direct. At least on this site. *shrug*

Is Mae Ann your girlfriend?

Okay. Enough with the sad blogs.

I'm looking forward to next Friday big time. My older daughter and my grandchildren are coming in from North Carolina. The three of them are staying up here for 10 days. My son in law will be coming in the following Friday and spending the weekend.

My daughter has friends in New York that she will be visiting part...

Nolan_Void sure did post a lot in the group. He will definitely be missed. I just hope that the Fascism thread in my group wasn't a major reason for him leaving.

The funny thing about these matters is that oftentimes members will come back to SG after leaving for an indefinite period of time. Perhaps he will come back, too.

I use to PM LostLucy when she was still on SG. She got zotted somehow. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but it is unfortunate nonetheless. Should LostLucy want to contact me, you could let her know that my SG e-mail address is SG.Holden.Caulfield@gmail.com.

I'm glad that things are going well with your family. My sister recently visited from overseas and my mother is in town for that reason, so it was nice to see them.

Take care,

Holden smile

Sorry to be such a downer with this post.

Today would nave been the 62nd birthday of my late wife. She passed away on September 23rd 2005. I've spoken to both of my daughters today as we've marked this very sad day.

The best thing in the whole world right now for me is that we are so close and can depend on one another...

I'm not sure what to think of the Griffey trade. He's still an ok hitter, with a decent amount of power left, but I'm not sure if he's even that much of an improvement over Swisher in center-field. The .240ish batting average isn't exactly something to brag about either. But who knows, maybe he'll make actually make a difference in the last two months of the regular season, and in the playoffs.

BTW: anyone who is familiar with Rochester gets bonus points in my book.

It's so hard to read some of my friends' blogs lately. Too many good people are dealing with death, illness, financial problems and relationship issues. It's tough to take sometimes.

On the other hand, I see so much strength emanating from these same people. I try to give these friends as much support as I can. I know how important a kind word and a...

I actually took that pic this moring before I left for clinical. I just wanted to curl back up with him and sleep some more. It hard leaving while you kid is still asleep. But I thought that it sucked when I had to wake him and scoot him out of the house. I guess it just sucks when you really want to be with your kid and you absolutely have to be somewhere else.

I hope you are doing just fine.

For the second week in a row my focus is on my problems dealing with some of the technical issues on SG.

Last week I stated that I couldn't use the inserts since I had my new computer installed. I want to thank those who gave me suggestions both on this page and through PMs as to how to fix the problem. I also wanted...

I'd like to think that I'm a reasonably intelligent prson. However, when it comes to computers, I am totally clueless. In fact, I would aspire to rise to the level of 'clueless'.

I need help from anyone and everyone with a problem I've had ever since I had my new computer installed. I'm going to re-create my message to the help desk and their reply....

Ha, I know nothing about hasselhoff.

I used to be way more active on the site, but eventually I decided to make my presence here a little more low key--but without giving up my name. somewhere along the line I decided to become THAT dave h.

Anyways, I'm always up for debate if its something I know about and care about. My liberal friends sometimes seem to think I'm a closet republican while my fellow Marines all think I'm a crazy liberal wacko (being from san francisco doesn't help). I just can't win.

Hey, thanks. Sometimes it helps just knowing someone's reading. Yeah, my girl's doing a bit better now; as I'd hoped, actually getting settled here in Baltimore has helped. She's also about to start on this anxiety program thing that had helped her before, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

And I can't help you with the computer thing. When I was in middle school the computer lab computers would get all screwy when I entered the room... I'm not even exagerrating.
