Wow. The New York Times finally calls bullshit on Dear Leader:

We can't think of a president who has gone to the American people more often than George W. Bush has to ask them to forget about things like democracy, judicial process and the balance of powers and just trust him. We also can't think of a president who has deserved that trust less....

So Karl Rove is going around Congress, telling Republicans that if they break ranks with the White House (you know, by upholding their oath of office to defend the Constitution) and cast votes which could lead to hearings about warrantless domestic wiretapping and possible impeachment of the president, he'll ruin their chances of re-election.

This from the national-security-threatening, nation-dividing mother fuckerist mother fucker in the...

Gonzales' testimony, or the Senate's cowardly, half-assed pass at a hearing. And you are absolutely right - even people tho like Bush have to admit that he has a rather rather creative view of checks and balances:

a) The executive can police itself, and;

b) The executive's measures for insuring the protection civil liberties must remain secret.. You know, to protect America.

It is a testament to how far our educational system has fallen that more people aren't outraged by this.

You mean the system is supposed to have "checks" in place which keep it "balanced"? That's crazy talk, sir!

I'm really late to the party on the Sin City graphic novels, but holy shit are they good.

I'm in Chapter Four of book three right now, and there's a good chance I'm going to just buy the lot of them next time I'm at the bookshop.

Okay, I'm going to hell for this, but it made me laugh.

Before he took up the whole preaching thing, Jesus was perfectly happy just staying at home and working with Dad in the family carpentry shop.
Mary went up to him one day and said she wanted him to make something more of his life, so she was sending him to the Nazareth College...

I think it was Bill Hicks who said that Christians should really rethink their policy of wearing little crosses around their necks.

"Yeah, because that's exactly what Jesus is going to want to see when he comes back," or something like that.

Oh that is superb! Really should be more widely shared... I may have to forward that on even though I am anti-forward.

Don't fret my pet, everything happens for a reason, or so they tell me.

Mostly, I think that reason is general snarkiness.

But look at the bright side... at least now you have more time for video games and porn! kiss

It just wasn't meant to be bro. There's something better for you just waiting to be uncovered.

Just over four years ago, Osama Bin Laden attacked America and took 3,000 lives. The President said at the time that he wanted Bin Laden "dead or alive."

But four years later, Bin Laden is still on the loose and continues to threaten America. Meanwhile, the number of terrorist attacks across the world has increased, and we now face the risk that...

Thank you a little more than half of voting America for being so afraid of gays and terrorists that you'll give up morals and compassion to keep yourselves safe.

Does anybody even care that between 28088-31676 Iraqi citizens have died, and at least 42,500 have been injured so far. Apparently 37% of these are from U.S Forces.

America has seen the death of 2235 soldiers and 16155 officially wounded. I used the official count because the estimated ones varied too greatly (between 15000 and 48100).

I got both these numbers off of anti-war sights, so I'm sure the numbers have been exaggerated a bit, but I imagine that they're at least semi-close to the truth.

We're on the bubble in a 180 SNG. I've been card-dead for AGES, but I
still have about 6700, which is twice the short stacks (about three of them)

I get QQ UTG. I think about just 3xBB-ing it, but I don't want to get

like to double up vs....

I did another podcast today, and Radio Free Burrito Episode 4 is online for your listening pleasure.

That is not lame at all. That is one of the best webpages I have ever read. Personally i do not look for the glam and the fame, that is not why i am talking to you. I like the person you are not who you were.

BTW are you still playing Diablo?
wilwheaton:
I've been playing Nethack, which is essentially Diablo without all the cool graphics and multi-player action.

My kid is CRAZY for Diablo II, though, which is really nice because it gives us one of those things I can use as an excuse to hang out together.

When I was in my very early 20s, this girl who I dated and I played this celebrity lookalike game.

Whenever we saw someone who looked like a celebrity, one of us would say, "hey, there's Nell Carter" or "Don't look now, but Kirk Cameron is shopping in Target."

One day, we were eating lunch at this Hamburger Hamlet in West Hollywood, on the extreme...

We also have a game called "That's for you," so when we see something really horrible, like a girl wearing Ugg boots and a mini skirt, I'll tell my wife, "That's for you."

If Anne sees it first, she may say something like, "You didn't tell me your girlfriend was going to be here!"

By some horrible mistake, I ended up watching about twenty minutes of Vanilla Sky last night.

I didn't think it was possible for Tom Cruise to suck more than he already did, and it turns out that I was wrong.

The really haeartbreaking thing about that movie was that Cameron Crowe directed it. I was so disappointed in him.

It's so weird to come back to real life after being away for ten days. This must be what it's like when a drunk sobers up and realizes that all the shit he was drinking to avoid is still there.
