Some kids see their parents as a never ending resource, to be tapped into whenever the wind blows in a different direction, and some realize that their parents deserve the enjoyment of freedom after a certain point, and the opportunity to live their own lives the way they want to. But the bottom line is that your parents are there for both you and your sister when you might need them, and that's got to be a comforting thought. There are always wacky sibling dynamics, and you should be thankful that your family is close enough (as is mine, and I have a sister, too!) that you can experience both their love and support as well as that wacky sibling drama. It helps keep life rich and interesting!

On to the music: I have my own studio crammed with gear, and spend lots of my days either working on my music, or doing sound design for websites. I'm able to release an album here and there, and keep my sanity by writing music I enjoy, and hopefully others do too. It's all the patching, and all the cables that threaten to unravel me! But, no complaints. I love what Ido, and music (either mine or others') informs just about everything in my life. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Hey! I think I forgot to mention yesterday how much of a This American Life fan I am. I really love that show! I have seen David Sedaris and Ira Glass and the Sarah Vowell do readings, and we got to see the entire show live last summer (readings, band, Ira). I got the flaming squirrel tee! Yay for TAL!!

wow - i am totally impressed that yr taxes are completed. as for the returns, all of the above suggestions sound like the potential for fun. here is the thing, you can build bookshelves for not alot of money, and you can buy the camera, and that STILL leaves enough to try yr hand at gambling. should you win you can bankroll it and save up for the ultimate roadtrip. yay - everybody wins! i can really spend other people's money, huh?

Thank you for the balloon. I appreciate your sweet thoughtfulness. Gots lots and lots on my mind these days. I think I'm still struggling out of the mire that was created by giving up. Soooooo glad that I have found so much to celebrate, contemplate and generally bring my awareness back to the glorious experience of living.

I'm jealous that you guys have such a neat little CT clique. I haven't even met any of the PDX folks yet, but the PDX burlesque is coming up in February, so my chance may yet arrive. Teehee!

I just went to my bf's holiday work party a couple of weeks ago. I think it's better to have them after the season is over anyway, when everyone can actually relax and enjoy the...open bar (and each other's company too, of course!).

Isnt it great to have time to spend actually enjoying the newness of what you and the princess have really created? It sounds great, romantic, and all around like the best way to start of the new year. I am really happy for you and her bro.

Enjoy your time off! I was in Reykjavik last fall, and it was really wild. It rained the whole time I was there, right up until my plane was leaving, and the sun decided to shine. But I've heard that the winters there are pretty enjoyable. It has to be better than it's been here. Go sledding, and have fa great vacation!
