Back from my epic journey to the wilds of erm, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Electric Wizard and The Capricorns were ace, but the two local support bands were the highest order of rank (well ok, the second act were merely mediocre). Where does Twisted Ape find these bands?

Edinburgh was kinda fun, stayed sober and somehow managed to have a laugh in spite of it.

But...

Haven't been updating this thing because... fuck all of interest has been happening in my life.

However, I am going to see Electric Wizard tomorrow night, and I plan to go see Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy on Friday.

Then the weekend will come with it's normal shennaigens. IX jam on saturday followed by my return to DJing.

In a little over a week I'm...

It's been a while since an episode of The Simpsons has made me laugh aloud. Watching it is a reflex these days. But the sight for baby Maggie dancing to "Sex Bomb" made me giggle like a schoolgirl.

A hairy Schoolgirl.

Great. One of my exes comes to visit for the weekend. Not only did I end up with the expected blue balls, but she somehow contrived to pass her cold/flu-type thing to me. Which made the return to work today fun.

Gig yesterday was ok, played with my new amp, which was nice, and also used the theremin for the first time live. Not a...

Purdy isn't necessarily the word I would use. biggrin

Yes, some of them do dont they. I've been hearing quite a bit of wailing since last night about everything from the wardrobe to the acting. Personally I thought both were great. I was worried they would do something hideous to the theme music but it still sounded pretty much as I remembered it.

Just got asked to do this last night:

"Mick and Alice's Accident Prone Enterprise presents:

Heavy, metallic crust from the Czech Rep. These guys knock out a sound quite similar to the early Severed Head of State stuff, but temper it with Japanese-style riffery and Euro squat growling - an unholy mix of inter-continental sounds!

Gah. I'm tired and po'd for a lot of no-good reasons.

First and foremost is the fact that the weekend IX was supposed to be recording had already been booked by another band. We have since told that studio to get tae fuck and are currently looking at other options for recording. this means yet another delay in getting our demo out!

I'm also going...

Well, I got World Of Warcraft today. After installation and patches, I just spent the last three hours soloing as a Dwarven Rogue.

(And since sludgehead asked me to let him know, I'm on Earthen Ring under the name Norge. biggrin)
sludgehead:
Shame, i'm on Aszune as a dwarf paladin. Hope your enjoying the game, what level are you at? I'm 21
sludgehead:
You still on the earthern ring?

Gah. Weekend was monumentally ok.

Didn't make the eye gig on Friday due to a combination of poverty, fatigue and nerdiness (got sucked into a video game).

The IX practises are falling into a routine at the moment, a couple of run-throughs of the set, some half-assed jamming and a lot of beer and banter. It's a kind of weird limbo we're in waiting to...

Busy weekend coming up.

Tonight I've got an eye gig in Dundee to go to. Tomorrow, I've gotta get up and head through to Edinburgh for Ix practise, (only four weeks 'til recording! biggrin) the La Quiete gig at the Subway and then DJing at Void.

Sunday I shall be pouring myself into a northbound bus back to Dundee to stare zombified at a screen...
