I had breakfast with my two closest friends this morning, and they asked me to be auntie to their impending firstborn. They refuse to name her after me, but that's okay. Awesome as I am, I probably wouldn't name a kid Keri either.

Now I'm drinking sparkling lemonade and watching Nova: Origins of Earth. I'm a happy little dorkwad.

Our love can withstand ruination. And the love of others. It's everlasting. Plus, I hear you cook.

I dunno. I hear it's cold there in November.

I'm convinced the hygienist at my new dentist office is in love with me. She must have told me seven times what a pleasure it was to work on teeth like mine. She continually congratulated me on my fastidious dedication to oral hygiene. She told me I made her day. Then she gave me a happy yellow toothbrush. I do believe we're officially courting now.

That's funny. My dentist's hygienist told me the same thing, right before she spent an hour working me over like a stool pigeon. And I didn't even get a toothbrush out of it. I feel so violated.
adjunct:
I'll accept your friendship, but on moral grounds I cannot accept your toothbrush. I have too much respect for the bond between a woman and her hygienist to put myself in such a situation.

I love my tiny apartment. I love my tiny bed. I love my tiny refridgerator in my tiny kitchen. It's good to be home.

Oh, he gets pretty melty sometimes. I'm probably not supposed to talk about it, though.
archernu:
I remember a bit back, some months or weeks ago, when you mentioned further streamlining your life. I don't know if you ever unloaded the brass Hindi(?) statue to which you were refering then, but you are still, doubtless, one of the most content people I have ever known. And, that's pretty damn cool.

There is a cricket hiding somewhere in this damn house. I am determined to hunt it down and kill it. Don't think me cruel; when it's a choice between something else and my sanity, my sanity always wins.

Update: The cricket is dead. I spent some quality time sitting in the sun, reading a book and watching the dog chase grasshoppers across the lawn. Now...

I forgot to mention it, but New York, even on a cold day, smells like garbage. It's just one of the things you have to either let slide or let it force you into moving.

Occasionally, while readindg your profile, I think we will meet on the field of battle, and our only weapons will be mixtapes from England and the various parts of the commonwealth that remain.

Hahaha! And here I was, thinking that I was the only one weird enough to name their pet Crunchy! Maybe that's my calling in life, to search the world over for all of the different Crunchies that exist and then totally explode them...er...I mean exploit...totally exploit them...

So, um, I've never heard Shihad. What are they like?

Today was fraught with possibilities and potential.

So I'm sitting in my underwear, drinking blueberry soda pop. Mmm, possibilities.

Harm? Who said anything about harm?
archernu:
Of course you made your own pesto and noodles. I took that as a given. biggrin

Can you open a school of productivity? I'd pay, like, twelve-hundred pints of Guinness and, uh...something else. Then again, I could just pay POEE to whack me with a stick every time I began to stagnate. That would work too. (Hell, he do it for free.)

BTW: Dave "I have time for you now" Roommate is due to resurrect me laptop tomorrow. "Amen, bangerang and woo-ah" is all I have to say about that. If all goes well, I think I'll treat myself to a vanilla milkshake.

Superglue is henceforth the Adhesive of the Gods. I sliced open the knuckle of my right thumb making jambalaya yesterday, superglued it back together and just kept right on cooking.

No more bandaids for me!

Field medics' savior, really. Works better than duct tape or gauze for clean cuts.

I thought we could all use a little culture.

PORCUPINES AT THE UNIVERSITY

by Donald Barthelme

And now the purple dusk of twilight time steals across the meadows of my heart, the Dean said.

His pretty wife, Paula, extended her long graceful hands full of Negronis.

A scout burst into the room, through the door.

Porcupines! he shouted.

Porcupines what? the Dean asked.

Thousands and...

What a great weekend. I have little else to say about it. Fuck, I write the most horribly boring journal entries. Sorry.

Oh, mine as well. Like I said, it's just an observation of mine. I think by now you're fairly familiar with some of the oddities that come out of my head.

Just because this is as bad as it gets doesn't mean it has to be bad. Does that make sense?
mistersatan:
Okay, good. I wasn't sure if I was being as clear as I could.
