I have just successfully stared at the ceiling for an hour.

I feel fragile, volatile. I haven't been sleeping. I feel like destroying everything good I've done in the past year. I have no idea why.

I've been picking fights with everyone. If one of them is you, I'm sorry. My boss, with a concerned hand on my shoulder, sent me home this morning. I...

Today was better. I watched my sister become fascinated by half a popsicle for a few minutes before I broke the spell. She's so doped up. At least she's able to sit up, and to eat, even though it was just half a popsicle. She also managed to get from the chair back into bed by herself, but needed to take a nap afterwards.

Later...

The first thing she said to me when she woke up was, "Have your eyes always been that color?" After throwing up, the second thing she said was, "If I'd known it would be this bad, I'd have just offed myself." That was the hardest thing I've ever had to hear.

Then she threw up for half an hour. Partly it was from the morphine,...

The extrication of a brain tumor:

First comes the head shaving, then the heavy anaesthetic. Next a hole is drilled in the skull, just behind the ear. From the hole, the doctor is able to cut an inch and a half square in the bone and pop it out, exposing the brain and the tumor.

This is where the neurosurgeon takes over, and spends six...

I just made Hungarian fried potato bread. I don't think I've ever tasted anything so divine in my life. At least not since the last time I said that about something I've made. It was soft and airy, dense and smooth, and a little bit crispy on the outside. So beautiful.

Sounds delightful...

You mean the one with Dolph Lungren? They're making another He-Man movie you know (not with Dolph, I don't think). Plus a Transformers live action and a GI Joe live action movie as well.

First thunder storm of the year, and it's about damn time. My car has needed washing for a couple of weeks. Thanks, nature, for doing it for me.

I took myself out for breakfast this morning, and inadvertently flirted with a cop. I thought I was just being friendly, but I guess there was a wink in there somewhere. Oops.

I'm glad my mother taught...

I'm scared. I'm being followed by hostile nuns. They were waiting for me in the parking lot after I got Greek food, sitting in their big van. These weren't the singing or flying kinds of nuns either. These were the dour, scowling, shooting lasers from their eyes kind of nuns. They followed me all the way to the post office. I nearly peed myself as...

I've begun the Great Purge on my apartment. I'm just tired of owning so much stuff. This morning I packaged up three bags of shoes and four bags of old clothes to go to the Salvation Army. After work I'm going to clean out the refridgerator and the kitchen cupboards.

I'm also contemplating how to sell the dozen or so hats with ears I've made...
