I seem to be the victim of some sort of SG bug. I cannot see my friends threads. It's really annoying. I posted in SG bugs a couple days ago, and since then one other person has reported the same. Have not heard from staff yet.

Can someone give me a logical explanation why I should "respect" any opinion I come across, whether it has any merit or not? Last time I checked, respect is something that is earned, not given. I do not expect everyone to respect this opinion.

I know I don't know you as well as a lot of the other guys (particularly those of the War Room), but I just wanted to say that I'm sorry you took that thread so hard. I know people can be harsh, and sometimes people just don't choose to read the words that we write like "I could be wrong." I've told this to many people, but a lot of times it's just a matter of catching people in bad moods and the tiny snowball turns into an avalanche. Trust me, it's happened to me before. I just want to say that I tried to say my piece and that hopefully you didn't take it as an attack or me jumping on the bandwagon (that's why I didn't quote you directly). I even told Flux I thought you were just coming from the good parent perspective.
Just keep in mind that blaming the victims of crime (especially when they're women) is a big deal, because of the psychological stress it can have on the victim in addition to other "bad" things. This is why it's such a hot button issue. It stems from blaming rape victims for "getting what they deserve." Surely you can see the slippery slope? I know that's not the type of assessment that you were trying to make (and so did thefreak). On second thought, I should have just stayed out of it. Just keep in mind context, a woman and daughter were shot, it's just not appropriate to start appropriating blame on anyone other than the shooter. I know we like to think of ourselves as objective (and the internet magnifies that illusion) but it's not the case, and last nights thread reflected that. It doesn't mean you're a bad or horrible person or anything like that--you just misstepped, we all do it.
Your righteous moral indignation around the boards tells me you're a good guy. Take care, don't worry about it, it'll all blow over (I know).
