There is an believably unbelievable sense of peace I feel when I'm on Quadra Island. My parents' cabin is located about half an hour driving- both on paved and gravel roads- away from the ferry terminal, and there is sweet, sweet silence when you arrive. Oceanfront land in this area doesn't have that same electric hum that I tolerate in a city.

In short, I...

I can finally stop thinking about school for a while. It's been on my brain so much lately- school itself, that is, not the things I ought to be learning. Received an A- on the paper I wrote recently on Thucydides, despite it being pages short of the expected length and researched half-assedly. Sometimes I don't know how I pull this stuff off.

My neck...

Instead of going out tonight to fulfill my Wednesday night drunkfest routine, I stayed in, typed up notes for my Greek Democracy class, and played video games with Colin and Laura.

Solon and Cleisthenes and Pericles, oh my!

I just don't know what to do with myself.

I've been on the internet less lately, and it's good for me. Keeps me alive and real and...

Too bad. I dislike having a fun vacuum for a teacher. Try to find something to make it more fun like visualize cartoon characters acting out the idea maybe.

I'm updating this journal too often.

My hair smells like apple cider vinegar and my skin smells like lemons.

I rocked harder than God at MarioKart today.

My date with Euripides was a bit of a letdown, but more for him than for me, 'cause I didn't exactly show up. I am (still) a pathetic example of a student. I will wing my midterm tomorrow....

Does Euripides put out?

see at home i don't mind so much, cause you can pause it and stuff like that or rewind... but in the theatre it just totally pisses me off. I pay to go to movies so that I can enjoy the experience of a good movie on the big screen and then there is some fucker next to me talking to their friend about something trivial and i just want to rip the skin off their face and tell them that i want to pull their spleen out of their body and shove it down their throats and see how they like that!

uh.... and hi smile how are you today?

"I see you're drinking one percent milk.."

I've been trying to think of who I'd take a bullet for, but I really can't think of anyone outside of my immediate family. I'd still throw a few sloppy punches for others, though, if the need arose.. but I'm pretty sure that I would be a terrible fighter.

Watched Fight Club recently for the first time, save...

Your journals tend to have several points where I want to comment!

but I'm pretty sure that I would be a terrible fighter.

Keep your hands up, and go for ferocious primal effort-- it's your best hope if you can't punch. smile

it made me want to get in fights just to taste my own blood and get really into urban anarchist bombings and art. Art bombs?

Ooh! Check this guy outmy favorite modern artist: http://www.banksy.co.uk/ Banksy is all that and a bag of Krylon can tips. Theres a dude here in SF Ribbity that I like as well, thres a couple of his pieces here: http://www.3580.com/blog/archive_graff.php?page=11

I doubt this, er, "date" will be as hot as last night was (cryptic!), although there will be drunken Maenad frenzies involving the tearing apart of animal carcasses.

If your date was hotter than the drunken tearing apart of animal carcasses, then Im officially scared of you. Go on with your bad self!

I saw stars. Honestly. My peripheral vision shimmered with white light and there were moments where I forgot where I was. Those stars.

Why did you see stars? Head trauma? Was this part of the Epic Date? Should we be happy for you or concerned? wink

The paper is done and handed in. It's not perfect, but it's printed off and stapled. Once it gets to that point, it feels complete, whether or not it really is. And my Latin quiz was passed with more than a tinge of mediocrity. Ah, well. 'Tis only school.

I heard "Doot Doot Ploot" by the Hidden Cameras on the radio at work yesterday, and...

This is the part where school decides to drop by, slap me across the face, and come sit in my living room. Unwanted. It's the guest that never leaves at the right time, the person that shows up everywhere that you don't want to see them, the silverfish that crawl in your baseboards and circumnavigate your water pipes.

I'm writing a paper on Thucydides and...

oh yes, all about Thucydides. Well, a lot about him. The main guy has the Histories, and he keeps excerpting parts of it. Happened all the time in the book, too. It's probably, like, metaphorical or sumthin'.

Is there a better way to shake off what was nearly a nervous breakdown of a day driven partially by last night's terrifying nightmares than to spend the evening reading comic books and Plato in bed with a boy who shares my eye colour?

.. Didn't think so.

My room is cold and I can hear the rain on my windowsill. In bed with my computer. It's rad, even though it doesn't know how to spoon.

I was reading some of the Platonic dialogues at work the other day, and I'd toss my book down on the counter when customers approached. It pleased me greatly when people commented on my "light reading for...

You should try downloading the video Revelations. It's from his show in England, really funny.
Relentless is probably the best one...Philosophy is good too, then Flying saucer tour, Arizona Bay ( Which is where Tool got the idea of writting Aenima) That's about it. But like I said try to get videos as well.

I have scars all over my body.

Several summers ago, after attending a family reunion in the tiny grain-fueled town of Trochu, Alberta, I found myself visiting family friends at a cabin alongside Christina Lake. Earlier on this trip I had managed to dive into a pool that was much more shallow than I had anticipated, hitting my jaw and left shoulder hard against the...

i always look forward to reading your entries. smile

i have a purple scar on my left knee that sticks out in a nearly fluorescent manner when it's cold outside. i got it back home in calgary last winter. i was flailing wildly down the street when i hit a patch of ice and wound up flailing directly into a patch of gravel and taking all the skin off.

it was pretty awesome.

Breathe in.

I am not sleeping enough these days and my house smells like rice vinegar and school is going to weigh upon me within the next week with unexpected force and work is fine but I cannot stand the constant hum of fluorescent lights and sometimes I just want peace and quiet and I'm not finding the time to read that I'd like to...
