Father's Day year two sans Father.

Spent most of the day cleaning up and getting stuff done. Found a paycheck that I forgot I had, which is nice.

Tonight my buddy is coming over with his little guy. Two years old, a little tyke. Going to do some burgers and stuff on the grill, have a beer or two and watch the kid run around...

Tax return whoo! Always a good thing...what are you going to do with the extra money?

And, I'm more of a bacon kinda girl...and where I'm from it's not called Taylor ham, it's called motherfuckin pork roll!

Anyway, sometimes I get a little scatterbrained, but I usually am paying very good attention, you'll just have to remind me of minor details to get the ball rolling again. tongue

This girl sounds like a drag, and I think it's pretty shitty that she's txting you about hanging out with another guy. She shouldn't be texting you at all if she's seeing someone else! That's fucked. And it's cool, I listen to people bitch about their problems every day and get paid for it. That'll be $25. wink
beautifulxalone:
dude...what's wrong with my blog posts? I have a lot to say, mmmk? tongue

Jealous that you went down the shore. I haven't been to the beach since May bkz it won't stop fucking raining here. frown Yeah I probably won't go to Lollapalooza. I really just wanted to get out of the state for a little bit.

So I wake up this morning, head out through the garage and when I go to open the door, the handle is really loose.

Checking out the other side, there's the remnants of the door assembly shattered on the concrete in front of it. So the cops come out and pretty much told me what I knew already- that someone had tried to break into...

yea, karma is a bitch most def. I've had my fair share of karma moments myself.

I think it spoke too soon on that last comment I left you. Ever wished that you should have just stayed where you were, instead of going over to hang out with a person because the rest of the night just turns to shit? When all you wanted to do was chill, and laugh and enjoy their company? Yea, that's me. last night was kind of a nightmare, and it's pretty much like two steps forward and one step back with this endeavor. It's exhausting.
beautifulxalone:
Sounds like this little lady is only trying to keep you thinking about her, and gets satisfaction from when you answer her txts, but doesn't necessarily seem to want to txt you back? I don't know. Give her a taste of her medicine, and the next time she txts you...don't answer. tongue

"I just don't want to lead you on."

"You're a really great guy and an amazing person."

"I want to be able to have someone come over and just hang out on a random Tuesday."

"My schedule is all sorts of crazy."

"I still want to talk and I still want you to call."

"I'm still stuck on the last guy."

"Not ready for a...

I definitely sleep better now than I did years ago...but it's totally a different kind of sleep, now that I'm not inhaling an eighth of maryjane every other day tongue
Melatonin works wonders for me except every once in awhile it makes me have wacked out lucid dreams that turn into raging nightmares. They kind of sneak up on me. But anyway, both me and the boy are very light sleepers and have weird twitches and shit in the middle of the night so it's difficult to sleep sometimes.

ANYWAY. No, the pro's list was definitely WAYYY longer than the cons list which put things into a very nice perspective...the perspective that it seems there are many things that are just "in my head" and are due to past relationships and old insecurities that are still lingering and will eventually go away as trust builds and time heals. So that's a plus I guess.

And you are the second person to reference High Fidelity to me in the past few days, so I'm adding it to my netflix. I've never seen it, and I love John Cusack.

So what if a young man from Philadelphia meets a girl in New York City on a Friday afternoon at a retail store where she gives him both an employee discount and her phone number. She says they'll go out that night, but she bails.

Then the texting ensues and they make a date for the following Thursday in the city. Drinks, dinner.

He's up...

hahaha. I love that she told you her uterus was trying to kill her. That sounds like something I would say to a guy. tongue Two thumbs up.

I think the fact that she is still txting you is good, but DON'T CHASE HER. And don't always be the one to go up to her. I learned my lesson the hard way in a long distance relationship...you'll resent it after awhile. Make her come to Philly...and if she does, buy her a motherfuckin cheesesteak wink

My new gig is lookin to be pretty sweet...going to be working in the mental health sector still, but dealing with more of a medication aspect of it, and working with DBT (look it up) still, which is good...because I'm really into that. I think it'll be a good segue (sp?) into the world of nursing. And as for Monday, it involves complications/awesomeness with a new boy in my life. Boys are always the source of complication tongue

PS. Longest comment ever.
beautifulxalone:
hahaha..I appreciate that you actually did your research. Yes, boys are endless sources of complications, but so are girls as well. It's a two-way street I guess. So, any updates since a few days ago when you wrote that comment? If she seems like she needs a lot of attention, that doesn't automatically mean you should be giving it to her. tongue Yes, girls love attention, but they also like a chase...I know it sounds completely counter-productive...but most of the time that's what dating is all about right? Bottom line is, if you like this girl and want to spend time with her, your best bet is to do such. At least then she'll know you are interested, and then the ball will be in her court.

Was that a totally counter-productive comment? wink Any big Mem. Day weekend plans?

How come I'm in front of a computer when I should be working?

Oh, because I'm not working. I'm in the middle of day #4 of my corporate-mandated furlough. In total I get to take ten, with a possible extra five, days off without pay. It comes at a fairly good time for me, considering I sprained my ankle pretty bad this past weekend.

Never...

haha. I'm so glad that you had that reaction to the comment I left you. Things are good...different but good. It's been what, four years? I live in Boston now...and have grown up ( a bit?) but still the same ol same ol...how are YOU?
beautifulxalone:
Haha...I'm good thanks, how about yourself? I know right, it's been ages. No I have not dropped off the face of the planet...but I have moved, finished school, been working, frolicking, trying to figure out my life's path...how about you? What's good?

It was an expensive week and one that has been extremely stressful.

Last Saturday I reffed a game in which a high schooler punched me several times. We basically were fighting each other on the ice. The kid is getting suspended from school and won't be attending his graduation.

Following the game I went to the bar and went back to the arena to watch...

So we're just four days into 2009 and now is as good a time as any to look back on 2008. Tough to decide if the year gone by was worse or better than the one that came before it.

The newspaper business continues to suck the life out of me, but not as bad as it has been. At times it has been trying...

Three months since a post...Been a lot going on, just haven't felt compelled to write about it. Again, I write for a living -- why should I do it in my free time?

Just been really bogged down at the paper, writing about really uninteresting topics, like the local tomato festival, coastal evacuation routes and things like that. Well, today was at least a little...

Another month, another blog entry. Just seems to be the way things go.

Maybe it's because I write all day that I find the world of the blogosphere so bland. Could I liken it to how someone who has a swimming pool that rarely takes advantage of the oasis in their backyard?

Perhaps it's that I prefer not to trouble people with the woes of...

Hmm... have any lady friends with birthdays? Mom? Grandmother?

You could give cross dressing a chance, you might find a new hobby!

Haha. Thanks anyway wink

Eh. It's probably not going to happen. I mean, I really think he and I are going to make it...and even if we didnt, I love the idea the banana sticker represents in the show and I think it would make me smile every time I saw it.

I'd definitely think it through a little more. There are other things I want to get done first anyway smile

Been a while....

Thursday marked a month since Dad passed. Made for an interesting Thanksgiving.

Worked all day at the paper, finally getting to sit down to a quiet dinner around 7 instead of our normal 2 or 3. Still adjusting to sitting at the head of the table, but Mom said it was time. Besides, she's not about ceremony or leaving an empty spot...

The holiday season seems to be nothing but commercials of families looking happy and complete. I'm waiting for the commercial featuring a family trying its best to hold it all together while trying awkwardly comfort each other.

Here's hoping you and your family have a peaceful holiday. Its going to be rough, but you'll get though it. I'd suggest avoiding the mall. Its annoying on a good day, but the whole atmosphere is still overwhelming to me, and my mom has been gone two year. I can barely make it through a shopping expedition without crying. I do all my Christmas shopping online. Most people don't really understand why I do that....I don't really try explaining why anymore, its not really worth it unless they've been through it. The outside world can really be heartbreaking at times, even when it doesn't mean to.

Try last.fm
Much better then the radio. You can tailor music stations to your own liking.
