did you know our government is actually considering a bill to reinstate the draft? it's called HR 163. actually, it will force everyone (men and women) between the ages of 18 and 26 to serve for 2 years.
perhaps even scarier is how this seems to be slipping by without much notice.
i've already emailed my senators, being the idealistic dunderhead that i am...but i...

life's a bowl of cherries, 'til you eat them. then it's just the pits.
i need to go grocery shopping.

It's the grocery shopping bit that proves your comic brilliance.
is it just me, or can women sense when you've just begun to get over them, and immediately decide to drop you a line?

Somehow I think people in general have that sensor where they know that you've gotten over them. It's odd how a lot of people want to be wanted even though they have zero intention of being with you. It's terribly flattering to be liked by someone but I don't believe in playing mind games if I have no intention of returning the desire. I hope things work out for you.
hotcurry:
Wow! Yeah, I'd say all the way in Sweden makes a bit of a difference. It's always worse if it's soemone you run a chance of running into often
Thanks for the compliment on the pic.

nothin' like 3+ hour phone calls.
rorschach:
Haha, you're lucky you still like your phone. I turn my ringer off so no one can disturb me, even during work hours.
How you been lately man?

name that tune, anyone? (hint' it's the only line in the song.)

Yeah I guess so...like the kind of posing they won't do on SG
no pink if you know what I mean.
ok, last petition for a while--but this one's important. it's regarding electronic voting machines. we have to make sure they give a printed record of votes. otherwise, we're all screwed. i can't believe this is even an issue. why would we trust the future of our country to machines that we can't hold accountable?
anyway, just please sign here.

HA! then you should know how to build MY chopper by now!
bats are really cool critters. you only really see them once a year around this time--they come out and hunt bugs at dusk. they're totally silent except for the soft tapping of their wings as they fly, and they occasionally chirp to each other. for some reason i'm really glad to know they're out there.
rorschach:
That's because they are almost completely harmless and they eat alot of bad things...plus being mammals always makes it easier to relate.
hotcurry:
Yay! I really enjoy chatting with the both of you. I'd like very much to come up to your area at some point. I can't belive how little I travel since moving to LA. I wish I was able to see more of California. I'll be sure to leave a nice message in his journal. I appologize for not being more in touch with the two of you. I've been more crazy with work as of late.
By the way, I love bats. We used to have so many in Jersey that would swoop down over our pool at night. I developed quite the afinity for them once my dad rescued a small fruit bat when I was a kid and nursed it back to health. We had him in our house for a few weeks after we found him hurt in the back yard. They do eat a lot of bad things like mosquitos and such. Which when you grow up with a ton of mosquitos around your house, is much appreciated.
Hope all is well with you.

this world is going to hell in a fucking handbasket. some might say it's signs of the end, and i'm almost inclined to agree. it just seems like there's so much shit going on in the world--maybe it's because i've only recently started to pay attention to it. sucks to be florida. give me earthquakes over hurricanes any day. i guess god's finally fed up...

AH, NO!!! I will take hurricanes, tornados and blizzards over earthquakes any day. I hate the feeling of never knowing when the next ones' coming and hopw bad it's going to be. I have been through several forms of natural disaster and all make me feel more comfortable than earthquakes. I can at least prepare or leave the area.
icmn is flying back today. it'll be nice to talk to him again, it's been a while. it's always just the thing for when i'm feeling cabin fever, like i am now. it's not normal for a person to not be on their own by my age. i now know that for a fact. it's ok though...it's only a matter of time...
rorschach:
Time, our most precious resource
i love real time with bill maher. i just get frustrated when i read the news, because it's mainly filled with people who don't have a fucking clue; but when i watch his show, it reminds me there are still people out there who do. this website has a similar charm.

the trombone players were totally the coolest at my high school. they had the most elite clique in the entire school.....so elite, in fact, that everyone just though they were uptight nerds who are only capable of socializing with other trombonists. shows what they know. those kids rocked my world......but then again i was grandfathered into their clique (one of the girls and i were neighbors)
ahhh, memories
