Just finished killing all the current events I was organizing for SGLA, and am in the process of removing all the pictures I've posted there (fucking hell that's taking a lot of time).

I hate drama.

Yeah, so my new year's eve thing rocked. Blew away my expectations, and hopefully set the stage for a killer 2004.

New Year's Day was low key, after doing the Fred62 diner action with some of the survivors, I got a bit of rest, then had a few people over to watch a movie, drink, and play videogames into the night. Okay, into the night...

The Devastation of LA was total. Every building was leveled, every car destroyed, every freeway overpass tumbled, every tree knocked over. I think some things that had already been knocked over were put back up again just so they could be knocked over. Fucking decadent.

Of course, because the team of experts we had working through the morning were tenacious and have great attention to...

OK so seriously, I've just had one of the most bizarre experiences of my life.

I walk into a grocery store, and grab a little basket. I wander up the aisle, and pass a woman who's walking the opposite direction. We make eye contact but don't say anything. A moment or two later, I hear 'excuse me' coming from behind. Shit, did I drop something?...

And then there was trash.

And hey - I finally found a great chat client for the Mac.

I overslept from a nap and missed hanging out with some friends. But then out of the blue, Boobookittyfuck invites me to join her and nonsense for drinks and Rocky Horror Picture Show at the NuArt theater in Santa Monica. If any of you have either...

I've just spent a little over an hour cleaning up my place from last night. Empty cans, cups, bottles, sticky spots, and general trash. I only had two guests. I feel like my place got a tiny bit thrashed here (it's a small apartment, I've had parties that took less time to clean up after). Am I an ass for being pissed off?

A friend...

Eww! Sticky spots. I also condone all kinds of debauchery and decadence, but I think at our age, there are methods to indulge in a more cultivated way without spilling our guts all over the floor!!
spaceheater:
Sticky spots on the kitchen floor and drunkeness? God that brings back memories. One time a group of us were playing this drinking/board game that involved throwing corks at the opposing team-but it really hurt to be hit by these corks, so we substituted marshmallows. At some point in the game a multiple person wrestling match broke out-so all these guys are rolling around on the floor. The two of us that were not wrestling(myself, because I'm a lady, and my friend, because he's a pussy) Thought it would be cool to pour a bag of powdered sugar and a bottle of tabasco sauce over the dogpile. Too much fun!!!! I SO wish I had pictures of the aftermath-all of us were covered in these substances, and the kitchen was demolished-sugar, tabasco, alcohol, and soggy marshmallows ALL over the place. I still have that game, I can't wait to break it out again. Let me know if you want to borrow it, although it may be missing some pieces. biggrin

Yeah, sometimes I'm an idiot. And by sometimes I mean all the time. It's true, ask around.

Meanwhile, weapon x continues testing... killer or cure, I can't quite tell. It might be ready for a real name soon.

Does it really need a name other than Weapon X?

Yeah, I am the Ebay whore. Alas, I am a packrat, but hey, if it earns me a few thousand bucks, I'm all over it.

I feel like an idiot most of the time myself. Do you think there's any chance of outgrowing it?

I don't know what's wrong with me sometimes. Actually, I'm pretty fucking clueless all the time. I suddenly feel haunted, like what I got for Christmas was the memory of everything that's fallen apart in my life. There were a billion happy moments, but right now all I'm picking up on is the sadness. In this weird state I find myself inexplicably thinking about and...

It was the psychotic English teacher in my brain.

"You are so emo." as oppsed to "your so emo"
see.
But, I might be taking the term out of context. I know that it means a certain kind of music, etc ... and I think I have pulled from it "that melancholy feeling that we feel for ourselves sometimes,...even though we are not having to live try to survive through sniper fire and bombs and starvation etc."
..I was being snarky, I guess ,but on a totally self recriminating level....

OK-- what I want after a statement like the previous --or any other statement where you know people are a little like "huh?" -- is that "dog with its ears up and its head to one side" kind of look. There is a sound in my mind that is not transcribable in my lexicon, but do you know what I mean...Or am I just really drunk and alone...and can commence being emo on my own about it?

OK, so I just don't understand this one. Traffic was lighter than usual going into work. Presumably because of the holiday. But coming home was just as bad, if not worse. Funk dat!

So I got a bunch of calls and emails from family members wondering if I was dead. They'd heard a news headline about the earthquake, but couldn't be bothered with actually checking...

Hi Trilo,
I didn't hear too much about the earthquake where I am. California has had it pretty bad this year. The news has been driving me crazy for the past few years. They are so catagorically wrong on extremely objective things like whether or not is raining that it strikes me as odd that anyone would pay attention to the much more grey and murky subjective area of politics or war on the news. Mostly I'm glad that the earthquake wasn't really very close to you.

Yeah, I sometimes lurk on the boards because I am shy and I always feel a bit mean when I read some of the comments and I want to write mean things but I stop myself and just lurk. Heeheehee!

Nah, you wouldn't be intimidated if you met me. I put that in because I'm pretty non-threatening.

I hope you have a lovely holiday!
xo, minky
p.s. I'm sorry about your friend.

It was great meeting you at the SGLA thing the other night. But consider yourself lucky being able to leave (alive) with those awesome red pants!

I think you played a part in setting up the whole thing so, I thank you.

Have a groovy, quake-free Holiday.
