Hematoma is the term, I think. My Grandma had one, her brain was leaking blood into the interstices and it formed a puddle of blood, like a little clot.
Bad news, they shaved my Grandma a mohawk and drilled a hole in her skull. Good news, this was 6 months ago and she is actually sharper than she was before because of the pressure being reomved in her brain. Hopefully the same will happen for Jeffy's Grandpa.

Nah, they don't know. They didn't give me any pain pills either because they thought it'd kill my stomach...which I disagree with, because it isn't like it could be any worse than it was.

Also, they keep really cool stuff in that little cabinet in the ER. I almost took like six tongue depressors just because I had never seen so many unused ones before.

My best girl friend lives like, a bajillion miles away. I didn't know she was preggers until she posted pics on myspace of her HUGE pregnant belly. It made me hella sad and at the same time, super happy for her. I felt really left out and sad that she had all these other friends there to help her and do her shower and all that. It's tough when we grow up and grow apart, but I don't think that the friendship is really all the way lost.

PS: You're not remotely elitist. I know elitism, I practically invented it.

mine healed really rather quick although I caught a cold about a week after getting it pierced and all the nose blowing made it raw as could be and quite painful. but the actual healing was quick.

Weird how these things come about. This is a journal enty that I wrote this morning:

Thinking about the death of loved ones is a terrible pass time, yet I find myself doing it. I think that it is something that those of us who have lost someone close to us do more than others, I have been known to work myself into a panic attack thinking of such things. Just yesterday, Josh told me that the next construction jobsite is going to be in Napa and he will have to commute. What's the first thing that I thought? I'm already scared of him falling from scaffolding or something, now what if he gets into an accident on the drive to or from? But we can't let fear and worry keep us in a nasty little box of doing nothing. We all live and we all die, it's just a matter of when, and because we can't know that, we have to just let go of our terror at the thought of losing someone and allow ourselves to grieve when it does happen. It is easier said than done, but I promise I will do my best.

Eh, we have such heavy thoughts from time to time, don't we?

BTW, your muffins sound delicious. I ate dry toast this morning because I was in a hurry amd my tummy is jealous of yours.
