Every year I do at least one century bicycle ride. That means 100 miles in one day. Generally, that takes me under six hours. In some ways it is akin to a marathon. Being a sometime runner, I think a marathon is harder. Anyway, usually I participate in a fund raising ride for groups fighting diseases like multiple sclerosis, AIDS or leukemia. This year I...

The summer of concerts continues. Last week I caught Squeeze. I was not a big fan back on the 80s, so I did not have any hope for them. The tickets were free and we had to go with this couple, I do not like. Despite the company I have to admit I have a great time and I did not even drink. Squeeze was...

Steal away! smile One of my personal mottos: CSE (copy and steal everything). LoL Well not really "everything". But it's helpful if you need something in a pinch to have a reservoir of copied phrases, etc.

Last night was an eventful night. My most favorite SG, Savana, made her official debut. Her set is the one to shoot for now, ladies. The best part of the night was that Savana was unaware that her set was up while everyone on the Silly Board was buzzing about it.

Ok...I really need to go out tonight. I have just described my night...

I went to see The Simpsons Movie. It is awesome. I think I laughed the whole time. I went during the day and most of the people in the theatre were kids under the age of 10. Do parents even know what the Simpsons are about? Yes, it is a cartoon but a five year old is not getting anything out of it.

Breeders!

On Thursday my partner and I went to see Lucinda Williams in concert. What a disappointment! She was quite boring. She had a book with her lyrics next to the microphone and kept looking down. How do you forget the lyrics to your own songs? Also she looked like she was half in the bag. I guess that would explain it. We left before she...

I am leaving for holiday tomorrow (Friday). We are off to the beach for a week (Nags Head, NC). It will be a relaxed time of sun, beach and probably drinks. We are driving there because it is not an easy place to get, plus we are not packing light. It will be a 12 hour drive, featuring the Cheasapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. I get...

Sid! Welcome back from vacation. I was wondering why my comments had gone so silent. and yes, I have a few set ideas that I'm twirling around. Going to try and shoot it late next month. I have a few things to get ready for it and a few things to buy... and some weight to shed.

So the end of the Morrisey saga was that we went had a fantastic time. It was probably the best concert im a few years. My partner was very excited because Morrisey played her favorite Smiths song "Girlfriend in a Comma." She also drank a bit too much and was a bit naughty on the drive home. I will not say more.

On to other...

Glad you had a great time at the show! And that you made it home without an accident!

Ach, aging...I'm giving up smoking cigs this week so my skin won't age prematurely, and tanning? Fuggedaboudit! For the age spots...Avon makes a great fading cream for freckles and marks. It smells good (but not too girly) and moisturizes too!

Hipster hats, eh? Well, there's the conductor hat, but that's a bit faded. Don't even think about a trucker hat! Irish caps are always neat, the Elvis Costelloish, mini fedora can work on some people, but I'm always a fan of the classic fedora. Very stylish, and anyone can pull it off. It goes casual (in a black straw weave) or formal (traditional felt with Harlem-esque feather).

xoxos!
