Bu ti do have to agree with Tiffanylynn, at least neither of us is sleeping next to a snoring, farting machine. My son't dad was like that... there were nights that I even moed out to sleep on the couch
blah. nothing too good to update with.

had my first real date in a while tonight. it was fun. we had a couple of drinks each and went to a porn shop (where he offered to buy me porn...i thought it oddly sweet really), then returned to the bar we started at to watch the yankee game. i don't think anything will come of it, but had fun anyway. he's... Here's hoping you get that night.
Those who have not had peace deserve it more than any of us.
For whatever it's worth, I sent along your 'why we are here' photo to a great many people. That, alone, has opened some eyes that had been shut as a result of mere political rhetoric for far too long.
Honestly, I went through your photo albums in hopes of not going with the obvious.
But hey, if I'm limited to one body part to offer praise to, let it be something that glorious.
Damn...
something i feel very strongly about is the subject of addiction. call me an asshole, but i have no sympathy for the addict. none whatsoever. zero. zilch. nada. get the picture? okay then.
if you are too weak of character to look deep enough within yourself and realize that you have a problem (which, by the way, affects everyone around you as well) you have... Read More
I'm going to disagree with you on addiction. Sure, it's everyone's fault that they get started. But people make mistakes, I'm sure we've both made our fair share of them. Addiction is not just a psychological state, there are concrete biochemical changes that take place at a cellular level and have been measured. Do you fault a person for their body's own attempts at homeostasis? Different people respond differently to stimuli - some people can shoot heroin once and never do it again. Other people try it once and are hooked for life. It's almost certainly a combination of psychological and biological factors that contributes to whether one becomes addicted. But once someone is addicted it's as real a mental illness as depression is.
One of the greatest triumphs of the psychiatric field in the last 15 years was being able to convince the general public that clinically depressed individuals can't just "suck it up and snap out of it," that their condition is as physical a condition as an infection, and should be treated as such. Addiction is the same way, and I think that when the general public finally realizes that we'll start to see some real proress made towards eliminating addictions. Mental illness is stil illness, and I don't think it's beneficial to anyone to fault a patient for their own illness.
You make a good point. I have considerably less sympathy for those people who refuse to even bother to seek treatment than I do for people who try kick addictions and fail.
