YES!!! *dances wildly around the apartment in utter glee* biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

I just got back from the impound lot with my truck! And it's still intact! And running! YIPEE!!! biggrin

*calms self; can't wipe big grin of relief off face* Okay, calm, cool, collected, composed...Whew!

It's still Poetry Day, so maybe I should compose a short verse about my lucky day.

Nah. I'll be late for Kira's birthday...

It's that time again. Yep, I'm gonna write me a poem. A sad, melancholy piece. frown

Tonight's missive touches on a recent sore point for me,
Namely that crime known as "Grand Larceny". mad

See I own a '67 Chevrolet,
A fine automotive beast,
Three-quarters of a ton is what the payload can weigh,
(On paper at least).

Some schmuck, some fiend,
Has stolen my fair...

Yet another kickass weekend spent in Royal Oak. *tips hat to Kira for introducing me to Luna*

Friday was a slow night with a decent show from a glamour group from Redford. A full-clothed rendition of what goes on in the VIP room.

Saturday was great. We (oninotaki, myself, and his two friends) ran into two sisters we'd picked up about three weeks...

In honor of the Journal Poetry Day, I have composed a handy pronounciation guide for my current state of residence, Michigan.

There's a city in the south called Charlotte,
If you ask its residents if they like their city,
They'll probably reply, "Sure, lots!"

There's a town known as Argentine,
Near my old residence in Fenton,
And I hear it's a wonderful place to...

Dateline--late Friday night/early Saturday morning.

Thanks to the blackout, Royal Oak had a curfew at 8pm. I figured there'd be no power either, so I didn't go to Luna (at the corner of 12 Mile & Main in Royal Oak); instead I went to a friend's apartment in Auburn Hills for the "Blackout '03" party. Great time.

Anyway, I was drving back to Wixom at...

That traffic experience is weird, but on another topic all together:

Thanks for the note on the Hunter novel. I guess you've finished by now. Good? It seems that I can only find this guy in hardcover, is that right? Were you reading a paper ed.?
I'm reading The Cold Six Thousand right now. If you don't already, you might dig James Ellroy.

Cheers.

Yeah I heard about the blackout it effected some people in CT as well. I always have a hard time holding my mouth when it comes to cops. I have no idea how those tickets would have transferred that's pretty crazy.

One car battery, one 140W DC/AC inverter, and one PB 1400cs/166 later, I'm back online for a few minutes.

No work, no stores, mild traffic--I'm bored. But such is this blackout. No Luna tonight, I bet.

On a side note, the Marathon on Wixom Rd across from the Ford plant had a line that stretched back to 96 (about a mile). Four pumps to service...

By popular demand, I have posted pics of the bus (I took these in October 2001). It is a beast, to put it mildly. Slow, lumbering, noisy, long (254" wb = wide turns), and a couple thousand pounds under the CDL limit (whew!).

It's awesome to drive. Especially if you are the only one in it. biggrin The ULTIMATE Urban Assault Vehicle--an old school bus. I...

Last night I drove 2 hrs & change to K'zoo for the Deja Vu get-together. Got there an hour late, so I was stuck at the "kiddie table" with Bathory. wink Not that it mattered, since OUR conversation was so much more involved (namely, why would sheep have numbers?).

Perhaps the best part, I got a hug from not one, but TWO SGs. That alone was...

Memo to self--five hour jobs take five hours. Not 20. If I were wrenching for a living, I'd make no money.

Functioning on no sleep since 6am Friday, expecting to make it all the way through the K'zoo trip w/o crashing, then drive back to Wixom?

I need a nap. Hell, I'll just sleep on my way across the state. My truck knows the way.

Well, the Ypsi Vu fell through. Luna was, as usual, kickass. Things didn't look good for us three, but fate--once again--dealt us two sisters and a friend. Saints be praised! biggrin A massage therapist, a sleep researcher, and, uhh, I don't remember.

Conversation revolved around Johnny Depp and how hot he was (attractive yes, hot no, but I was alone in that opinion; I prefer Jolene...

Went to Luna last night, had a hellacious time. oninotaki & his buddy Mike are good people.

Evidently my returning a drunk chick's money was an admirable act. (shrug) It's just how I was raised. You can mess with drunks, just don't take their money (especially if they're female).

Now for the bad news. Today at 12pm I rec'd a call from my boss. Brief...
