So, I could update my journal with how I'm going to be working all weekend, but that would get so old. Instead, I thought I would be lazy and steal a post from a board I wrote in this week...and then talk about sex.

This is an exchange from some random board entry--What was the greatest thing since sliced bread?

So, work continues to be challenging. We are writing a figurative rule book no one has ever even thought of before. (Or even if they have, they haven't done it well.)

There's tons of books on how to write TV and movies and make them and all the formats and process involved. Not so much for videogames. And so far every project has been different...

I'm still trying to get over the fact that you randomly found me and my nape here. You're a sorcerer! But I do love secrets. And I'm sending myself home right now.

So, thank you all for wishing me massages and drinks after my squishy brained work week. It was really, really very nice and meant more than you know. smile

I called my father on dad's day. He's prone to saying things like: "I'm glad you're doing well, so I can die and not worry." Quite fatalistic my pop. Of course, on the non-slightly jokey side he...

So, I just spent a week and a day--maybe 9 to 12 hours a day working on the videogame rewrite. The clients wound up staying an extra day. Though my head didn't explode, there was still more than enough stress and weariness.

They left today, very pleased with the work we'd done. We're pleased with the work we did, especially since we did so much...

So, I'm currently sitting in the conference room of our building, with my laptop attached to the whoppin plasma TV screen on the wall. (SG pics looks HUGE on the big screen, I tell you, HUGE!)

My entire weekend will be spent here, working on a last minute rewrite for a game. The writing team and I almost flew down to Austin to work on...

So, the weekend was pretty brisk. I have three writing projects in the hopper which meant half of Saturday was work and most of Sunday. In between I went to my good friend Mark's birthday party on Saturday night and closed the pub...again. smile

Then I got up five hours later to help my friend Kian move. Unfortunately the show he was working on was canceled,...

Okay I love this:

"Chasing your dreams is a scary thing. Those dreams always seem to turn on you and kick you in the head...but every so often, they smile, and give you a bowl of ice cream and some spirited oral sex! However, mostly it's getting kicked in the head."

Yeah the credit card thing was a huge weight on me for awhile. I finally paid them all off, now I pay the entire balance every month... so far I haven't had to float, but that definitely has made me think twice about giving up my secure career and taking a big risk pursuing a dream....

You are awesome to help your friend out. kiss

So, it's been a busy week. Just finished working a meeting with nine writers...and dammit if that doesn't take a lot of mental energy...I feel like a fraud sometimes...and occasionally confident other times. *sigh*

I saw Rasputina at the El Rey on Tuesday and they were wonderful. They just get better and better. Two women with cellos and a drummer. That's it. And they can...

If I haven't said it yet, thanks for saying hi. Nellie McKay is quite awesome, but most guys I know will not be convinced of this simple fact hehe. It's really hard to believe she's 19. I luff her.

So, Steve McQueen kicked my ass.

No, not the dead actor, but the drink Daveunderthebed created. I believe it was 3 parts whisky, one part gin with a splash of tonic and lime juice. Now, I hate gin. It makes me pukey. Of course, after the amount I had drunk earlier...this seemed a perfectly rational thing to do. I had two of them. Perhaps I...

So, it's a holiday weekend...the past work week...the past two weeks actually have been rather...lame. The producers of both projects I'm in charge of haven't gotten back to me. It's the old, hurry up and wait, I'm afraid. However, it just makes me revert to listless, loser mode.

In the meanwhile, many late night phone calls continue to transmogrify into a twisting ocean of words...

So, as I've said, previously to SG I was a member of David Lynch.com. I made many friends and created a short film based on the experience, but there is one special person I became dear friends with. ('Dear' is the lamest word possible, but how do you qualify those friends who mean more to you than anything? If Inuits have 35 words for 'snow'...

So, last night I saw the Suicide Girls Burlesque show at the Knitting Factory. It was great fun and everyone I met was quite wonderful.

Now, I should make it clear that I'm a shy person by nature, so it takes a lot for me to provide the illusion of an outgoing, 'natural' human being, particularly in a large groups of people I don't know....

So, Monday was busy as hell. Worked almost 10 hours, following up on all the E3 related stuff as well as a couple of new writing projects. Quite crazy.

In the interest of actually keeping a journal entry not only short for once, but also strangely free from angst and personal torment...here's a happy couplet from a favorite song:

When everybody is running in the...
