Reminds me of my favorite Animaniacs bit... Orson Wells is stuck making a commercial for canned peas. The copy he had to deliver w/o incident was, "...and it's full of green pea-ness." biggrin whatever Equally heavy-handed in Basil...just received a couple bunches from a neighbor. It's been in crab cakes, salad, fresh sauce, omelettes, etc. wink

I had fresh cherries straight off the tree last night. I don't normally like cherries, but these were exquisite!

Let me know if you folks need help moving. I drive a pick-up truck, and I'm always willing to haul things.

LOL, probability and statistics regarding the rate of disasters per day for an aquarius must be an all time high.

Spirits, oh spirits, I dunno, the word kinda reminds me standing in some atrium in the middle of the night with moths flying about.

"The foundations of a person are not in matter but in spirit." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

And more . . .

"Friends, such as we desire, are dreams and fables. But a sublime hope cheers ever the faithful heart, that elsewhere, in other regions of the universal power, souls are now acting, enduring, and daring, which can love us, and which we can love. We...

Ecsta`sy
n. 1. The state of being beside one's self or rapt out of one's self; a state in which the mind is elevated above the reach of ordinary impressions, as when under the influence of overpowering emotion; an extraordinary elevation of the spirit, as when the soul, unconscious of sensible objects, is supposed to contemplate heavenly mysteries.

It's so weird Stari..... alot of things you talk about I have been going through in some way too. Not exactly everything but very similar.
Hmmmmm.....how have I been dealing with it.....
Getting very, very real with myself.
In my work lately, I have been looking up how to set up contracts and invoices for my artist work. So, I decided I needed to set up contracts in my heart and in my head. A list of criteria that people or situations must meet before I let them in or take part or allow myself to give. It doesn't mean I shut off or back away, it just means I look at things more critically and set up a game plan before anything goes ahead. This allows me a plan of action before I get sucked into stupid things again or at least that is the idea. Once I started thinking that way, the old crap became easier to deal with because I was dealing with what was happening in the here and now. I hope that helps. kiss

I feel similarly of late. Just one reason I said I might be leaving SG...
Except my situation is far more complex. And has to do with a certain someone I thought I could be friends with (and who was on my SG friends' list!).

Not really memories of what happened, more like hopes of a future that will likely never happen. And I find myself doing what Sisu said, getting very real with myself. I have to stop holding onto hope for something that simply doesn't matter - literally. It hasn't materlized. I doubt if it ever will. It sucks, but life goes on. That's the quote that was on my calendar for this month: "In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on." Robert Frost

Good luck with your own transitional time. That's what I prefer to call events like these. They are simply periods of time in between phases. They are some of the most important parts of our lives, in my opinion. It is in these times we learn to find new personal strength, which we may doubt we even posess. Finding new things to do helps a lot. Speaking of which, I should get off this computer & do something constructive for myself.
Treat yourself well. That's the best thing you can do. Take it easy & don't be upset if this period takes longer or aches more than you think it should. Eventually you'll get to the anger part & then you'll start feeling like yourself again. Not the "old" self. We rarely go backwards in our continuing evolutions. We look back in reminiscence because we have changed. We miss who we used to be, not just the people or places we used to be surrounded by. Embrace the "new" you with open arms!! Make space for your next adventure. smile
*hugs*

Here is your stari factoid of the day:

The Barbie doll began life as a slutty doll named Lilli, which was sold to men in German tobacco stores as a kind of 3-D pinup. (I saw a picture of her in thigh-highs and a black mask. Kinda kinky, huh?)

I say that every time, but somehow I forget, and trust, and ( sadly sofar ) get hurt again.
The joy before the hurt though.......thats a glorious thing, and it wipes away the mistrust as easily as i wipe away a tear.

Spent Sunday hanging with part of SGPDX, who are the greatest bunch of people. Big shout outs to the SGs in attendance: Ryan, Germany, Polly, and Louise. These ladies are so amazing and adorable.

Bicycling can be great: I enjoy it. Please promise to be careful if you venture on the road, that can be a dangerous place. eeek

Good luck with the house hunting, and hurry back soon.

Hello stari smile

I just want to apologise for being terrible at being in touch. To tell you the truth, I am totally through with this site.

But I'm in a quandary because I don't want to lose touch and I haven't gotten around to setting up that new website I keep yapping about.

Wow...I'm glad you had fun with SGPDX. I hope that you solidify friendships made on the internet. My experience with SGUK helped to kill my SG enchantment.

I wish you all the luck and goodness for finding that "bread winning situation" you describe. biggrin

I do so very much want that "Maybe Logic" DVD. But it will have to wait until I have better finances.

Regards,
Vastad

Thanks for the info on the artist. I am going to check it out. I love Mucha. If you look in my pictures I have a piece of art in there by him. It's going to be my next tattoo!

As for becoming a make up artist, well, it started like this:

I was working at Nordstroms. They needed cosmetic people and thought about it and realized it was what I wanted to get into. I started off with a line called Too Faced. Then I became a manager of a line called Tony&Tina. Now I do freelance make up for Tony&Tina. Whenever they need help for events they call me. I only do it on the side now. My other job is working with disabled kids.
