I <3 synthpop. Still.

Wolfsheim made two versions of this song: the album version (the second half of the video) and a sister, "single only" version (the first half). Both are musically similar and about the same subject/story, but from a slightly different take with completely different lyrics. They shot a video for each, with one continuing on from the end of the other. Those...

Had my appendix removed at 5am yesterday. I'm doing well and was able to come home last night. Sleeping in my own bed was nice, though I woke every 4 hours when pain killers would wear off. Percocet is my new best friend.

It's not used very often. Most words don't get used very often. For me, personally I know I use words online I would never say in person. I'm the worst at pronunciation.

So, I made this costume for a murder mystery party thing a while ago and it wound up being a huge nightmare because I could not figure out how to make a super hero costume for my character, "American Legion". I got some advice on here and had promised to post pics but never managed to do so... until now! I rehashed the costume last...

Hello. I'm sorry to bother you but I believe you work in IT and I'm considering a career change into IT. I was wondering if you had any advice/recommendations about which programming languages/certifications are in demand, employment prospects and where a relative novice could get training. I'm in my mid thirties, my degree is in Mechanical Engineering and my only programming was with FORTRAN. From what little I know, the chances of me being able to get a foot in the door somewhere aren't good but I would like to hear some opinions from people working in the industry before shutting the door. Thank you for your time.

great suggestions for books! im definitely going to be checking those out!

and yea, I think i had hitchhikers guide read by the age of 11! haha smile

Empires by VNV Nation is still one of the best albums evaaaar. Not to say that later albums weren't good -- the song Beloved, on Futureperfect, is pure poetic genius -- but this album is full of so many amazing, moving songs.

One example:

Eyes betray the soul and bear it's thinking.
Beyond words they say so many things to me.
A stranger here reborn...

I know right! We thought our building was rent controlled. Our old landlord only raised our rent the regular 3% a year. They even gave us a reduction a few years back. This new landlord is rehabbing all the apartments and instead of paying us to move they've just jacked up the rent.

Kajagoogoo. That's right, you read that correctly: Kajagoogoo. Yep. I went there.

Their outfits and hair are so full of win.

Wasn't this blog worth waiting four months for? I am the worst blogger on the planet. As clearly evidenced by this blog.
