I still do theatre from time to time...I might restage a one-man show that I do in the summer. It has to do with my estranged family. Basically, when I started in the business I was writing for a comedian and after about 9 months he wanted to call it quits...we kind of ran out of material. Well, it just so happens that my mother had continued to write me letters...(remember...I've worked with the same company for over 10 years, so she always knows where to find me!) But, I don't read the letters at home or alone any more because thay are just terrible. Anyway, I had not read a letter in about a year, but I kept them, unopened in a drawer just in case she tried something weird...like violent. So, long story short we had another years worth of material. I would take a letter from the drawer unopened and read it aloud for the first time in front of the audience. I'm still getting letters, still unopened...waiting for an audience. You can imagine what this is like, or maybe you can't. Basically, people in the audience identify...they see that I am closer to my mother in this relationship that if we actually had one.
Your wife may need to see me do this...I know how that shit feels.

Yeah, the benefits are really good. A lot of the people there didn't even understand my excitement. I had to explain what a deductible was on the health plan and why it's so great our health plan doesn't have one.
I'm starting to rely on the work food. I didn't make breakfast yesterday. I just had an english muffin when I got to work. I hope they put me on the swing shift soon. It will make it a lot easier for me to get back to my regular gym schedule.

That situation you describe is always tough. If she has totally lossed her marbles, well, it doesn't really matter what you say, I think. Not that I would advocate doing anything cruel, but if she's gone, well... But if she did seem like she was lucid, I honestly think that for people who have mental disorders, the most important thing to do is just listen to them. That's good for your sanity qua listener, too. Because my experience has been that many depressed people, for example, have it all figured out. They're ready to shoot down any and all suggestions.
I would probably just send the 4 page intro. It would be a fast read, I promise. I have your addy, so I'll shoot it over soon. By all means, no rush (for you to read it).

God, that's hilarious. You hit the nail on the head with Closer. It is quite contrived (in the lines and the happenings). So yeah, you probably won't like it! Hahah. The dialogue was really quick and witty, and I appreciated that despite the unrealisticness of it all. I have nothing else to say because you just summed it all up.
