Out of the 28 violent conflicts raging right now all over the globe from Indonesia to Kashmir, from Sudan to Chechnya, from the Middle East to North Africa 25 are being waged on behalf of the religion of peace.

fej:
Fight for peace... Isn't that a oxymoron?

eris:
depends on where you are. i think bush has pretty well stated that his war against the "evil doers" is also being waged on behalf of a religion of peace, although his beliefs are not islamic, eh?

Why is it everytime I check the news a few dozen people have been killed in the name of a religion of peace?

i asked a similar question a while ago during an interview with a woman who is now a senator... her response: "peace must be maintained. this is the price of peace."

How Kazaa helped grow my business selling copyrighted digital media.

As some of you may already know, besides being a part owner, I am responsible for most of the business and marketing aspects of SuicideGirls. I have always considered myself a webdesigner or maybe webproducer, responsible for conception and managing the build of wesbites. I like making websites that make sense, are easy to use...

Bravo!

Now THAT's marketing sense!

Which reminds me of something; I'm emailing you right now...
lithium_picnic:
wow... i am dealing with some of the same issues on a minor scale... the lithiumpicnic site has been down for a few hours b/c i exceed my 20gb self imposed bandwidth cap for the month... i don't have users or members and am not a pay site - i just link my work posted on LJ (non SG owned work mind you) and portfolio on OMP and other photo sites through my site... i found there was huge community of artists on deviantart.com (mostly from italy - which was kinda cool smile )manipulating my work without permsission... and debated on skullcracking - but decided to leave them alone as long as they referenced my site... but now i have jackasses linking to their commercial sites and pulling 22,000+ jpgs in 3 weeks so i am regretfully turning off external image linking... i need to find a way to block the abusers and bots and let the average live journal user who is harmlessing posting their favorite test shoot of the week through... kevin from www.elasited.com has come up with some complex php screening scripts for his site, but they are a little beyond my script tweaking hack and go programming skills... anyway - glad to hear that kazaa thing turned into a win - you guys are really gaining momentum... -p

I feel totally left out of the August 2003 blackout. I just heard a government official on the news say yesterday was "the biggest accident in the history of world energy systems."

Imagine the entire city of New York without power, the streets filled with pedestrians instead of cars, the night sky unpolluted with man made light.

I wish I was born 9 months from...

There are those who do things and there those who criticize people who do things. The tragedy of the world to me is the second group is louder.

Cause it's easier to be in the second group! Also, part of the attraction must be that and there's an inflated sense of intellect that comes with it.

From a consumer-satisfaction standpoint, SuicideGirls has done for Web porn what Target has done for designer home accessories, offering top-notch, ferociously bad-ass product for a fraction of competitors' prices. A full-access membership on SuicideGirls can be had for four bucks per month (versus an average of $15 to $20 for many other sites), and members get a bag of Internet goodies: a live journal, image...
