British, US Spying Draws Us Closer to Orwell's Big Brother
by T.J. Rodgers
My waking thought on Christmas Day was that George Orwell's vision of Big Brother was no longer a hypothetical possibility but an actual near-term threat. That realization was synthesized from two news events, one here and one in Britain.
In Britain, the government recently decided to deploy global positioning system (GPS) technology...

You: "Nobody likes me...."
Me: "I like you, Sean."
You: (looks at me) "Nobody good likes me..."
I don't know why, I just thought it amusing. Anyway, I'm glad you're in charge, and I am NOT trying to kiss ass, just showing gratitude
Since I was thirteen, sitting in my orange-carpeted bedroom in ostensibly cutting-edge Lake Forest, Illinois, subscribing to the Village Voice and reading the earliest issues of Spin, I thought I had my ear to the railroad tracks of avant garde America. (Laurie Anderson, for example, had grown up only miles away!) I was always monitoring, with the most sensitive and well-calibrated apparatus, the degree of...

you said:
If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man.
which is a terrible thing to say, however true i seem to find it. so anyway, it reminded me of this...
Mitch:
'd like to talk about the differences between bears and frogsI know it's cliche. Like, if there's a frog around, I don't have to hang my sandwiches from a branch; a frog knows they are for me. He'd rather have a fly, 'cause a fly zig-zags while my sandwich does not... unless I go like "this"

I have an oscillating fan at home; it looks like it's saying 'Noo...' so I like to ask it questions that a fan would say 'no' to. "Do you keep my hair in place? Do you keep my documents in order? Do you have three settings? Liar! My fan lied to me! Now I will pull the pin up. Now you ain't sayin' shit!"

i just wanted to send you all the usual seasonal greetings and say thanks to you personally for making 2005 such an amazing year for me. i really do appreciate it.
love and hugs,

Wish i could give you a big hug. x
That being said, to me it's like what Beatrice says about Benedick, He wears his faith but as the fashion of his hat; it ever changes with the next block.
Wisdom probably lies somewhere between Shakespeare and...

I admire what you have done. Believe it or not.
Hope you have a good thanksgiving. May today at least be a peaceful day for one.
Cheers.
Calling me a misogynist is a half truth at best. What about all the men I hate? Misanthrope is really the better descriptor. You have to sift a lot of dirt to find gold regardless of gender.
And thank you sir. Thank you very much.
I wanna see pics if and when you get a chance.
"...crying about their locker not opening or whatever" is a direct quote.

So why you gotta perpetuate the mounty/canada thing?
You know they only make fun of us for it!
And when do you EVER see a mounty in Toronto?
