Oof, I'm sore. Very sore. Not as sore as I was yesterday, but still sore. We put the first coat of paint on the deck on Sunday and I had to get into all sorts of contortionist positions to do it. Keep in mind that our deck is 12 feet off the ground, so the outer parts have to be done from the inside leaning waaaaay...

Yea I'm going to work on coming. I should really stop being suck a homebody and put down the studies for a little bit, blegh.

Depending on when your doing the next coat of paint I'd love to help! So far I know I can't do anything the 14th because I have to go back to greenville for my friends art show, the on the 20th Im gonna be at the Arts Center to see Amanda Palmer! I love her more than any heterosexual girl should, and I'm ok with it.
I'm so excited, I need fantastical Amanda Palmer-ness in my life.

In awesome news, OMG THE SEMESTER IS ALMOST OVER!!!!
Then I can BREATHE.
And you can actually see me for longer than a lunch at a time, lol.

thanks so much for the comment on my set, Hush Hush, in MR. It really means a lot to me smile
Thanks again! kiss

How was your weekend? Did you have a fun Halloween? I worked on our deck Saturday, K_rex and her sis worked on pottery. Saturday night we turned off all lights and sat far far away so as not to get trick-r-treaters. I don't know why, but we just avoid it. I guess it's always been in the past because we go to her sis's house...

Thanks for actually answering my question!! You've officially been more useful than anyone in my group! lol
I'll dig my way out of academic drudgery soon, and I'll explain the project to you if you want, it was actually fun and I still have the Pueblo map and stats. As nerve wracking as I made it I enjoyed it, lol.

In random news, pilfered my Mom's sewing machine (with permission of course) and I'm totally gonna be a plushie making fiend after this group assignment whooo!!!!!!!!!

I'll let you know about TheFox. I'd still love to meet her but I'm hoping to chew the asses off my group tomorrow in hopes of spurring them to do SOME research. Any outside input I would love though, I'm just not sure I have time for face to face atm.

As for the study abroad, I've talked to my parents about some financial and life topics and they want me to wait until next years trip, so no Nevis or Thailand (my other option) for me I think. Granted I have until February to decide so who knows???
voldenae:
that could work, I'm mainly just looking for opinion here, whether people want if reformed and how, or removed and why.

I might have even gotten my group to actually do some work HUZZAH!!!!!!!!
I'm so excited. Also, I might have found a lady in our area that does hoop dancing so I'm gonna try to meet with her after the semester if she can find an indoor venue for like 30 people to hoop. She does the Hoop Jam, I dunno if you've heard of it. They just stopped this week though due to needing to go inside for the winter, so I'm sad I missed it.

I'm going to do some research on my paper this weekend, I'll have you call in TheFox for reinforcements if I get lost...>_<

And dont get in trouble for looking at naked ladies at work!!!!!!

Pah, I'm back. Not a whole lot has happened since last post.

You know, i think my getting the Kindle has really killed my ability to get on SG and talk. I mean, I have so many books just sitting there waiting for me to read that I just get sucked into reading rather than all the other things I should be doing. But I...

The commute has to be tough. For a while I was working in Winston-Salem while living in Chapel Hill. I should have known that wasn't going to lead to happy times when I hated even commuting from Chapel Hill to Cary. Long commutes really eat into your "not at my job" time. I felt as if I woke up, worked, ate dinner, slept, woke up, worked...

Here is my advice about mission creep. Try and find a positive way to motivate the additional work to be given to someone else even if you know you could have done it better. Work from the direction of the group members by pumping up someone's confidence about speaking up to try something or the side of the managers by complimenting your group members and their abilities to do the things they are having you do. This is tough if:

1. You have already been honest to your coworkers about how little reward you are feeling in taking on these tasks, and
2. You are a person who takes pride in doing things well and find it hard to allow bad things to happen (server down, wrong permissions set) without feeling a need to help fix it or responsibility when you actively chose not to help.

I know I have struggled with similar issues at different jobs. I doubt you would be truly bored being at home but you do take away a strong reward system and might need to find a substitute. K_Rex will of course be a great help towards your finding that new reward system . Maybe you want to garden, fix the house as before, write, run a blog (not specifically commercial), or even go back to school.

For the commute itself, Kindle Audio (when allowed) acts as a cheap audio book, if you have not already tried that. I have not played with that feature on my DX as I am not an audio book guy.

By the way, I assume you are going to pick up LFD2. I am going to skip it initially to concentrate on DAshocked but I am getting Borderlands today. If you pick Borderlands up and are interested in co-op, let me know. There is a bug fix coming tomorrow and some people have to go through some hurdles to open ports but it seems like it may be the mindless fun you need. Of course LFD2 fits the same role, albeit without the "shiny new thing" reward system.

Oi. OI!!!!!!!!!!

So my trip to Columbia, SC sucked big wankers. BIG. WANKERS! mad I should have been a simple thing, the Columbia office was moving to a new building, movers were moving things, we were there to make sure the network and computers all functioned properly at the end. We planned for it taking one night. **sigh** Three nights later..... I won't bore you with...

Hoo boy, been absent and busy.

First off, K_Rex is heading to DC tonight for meetings. She'll be back Friday night. Then on Monday I head to Columbia, SC for a few days to get a new office set up and the 'puters working. Umm...and this weekend we're doing dinner and a movie with some friends.

SO, catch up time.

The cruise went well. We...

Both K_Rex and I are feeling very sluggish lately. Very. I guess we're just not motivated. But, one more week and we're off on a cruise, so YAY for that!! I hope next week goes by fast.

Last weekend we bought a china cabinet. We went to this one furniture store that usually has good stuff, they were having a sale, we didn't think we'd...

Hello my friends!

Not too much has been happening in our world. K_Rex has been upping her exercise levels, trying to bulk up a bit and tone her muscles. I guess I'd better start doing that too or risk her being able to bench-press me. biggrin

This last weekend not much happened. Both K_Rex and...

So it's official, I found a place at Gorman Crossing, it's on the corner of Gorman and Avent Ferry, if you know anything about Raleigh, cause I sure don't!!!
I can move in Saturday, so once I start getting all that business together then we can do something! I'm so excited to actually get to see you and K-Rex soon!!

Halloooooo everyone!

Our Fourth was pretty good, even though not too much was accomplished. Friday I spent the day killing zombies (L4D) and trying to install some older games that I picked up. The game install went nowhere because one game was not useable on XP (it needed 98!!! eeek ), two of them it seems needed a joystick, which I don't want to use, and...

I am a big fan of Team Fortress 2. I am surpised that is not on you list. A real interesting game that I picked up about a week ago was Plants vs Zombies (on Steam for $10). It is incredibly cute and pretty fun. I had a Wii but I just gave it to my parents this weekend. They won't be playing Rock Band (at least I don't think) but Dad was anxious to play Wii Tennis and mom to do yoga on Wii Fit.

Woo, Girlie Night was fabulous. Speaking for myself, being the cabana boy and all, there was lots of hot nekkid female flesh, great lingerie, fun food and good times. As stated, there was some fabulous finger foods and good drinks. It started off with eats and drinks, then there was hair, makeup, nails, lotions, body scrubs, etc. We'll just class this under primping. smile The girls...

Not much overall has been going on since last post that is a big deal. I'm still working at LFS, K_Rex is still working. We did just get back from Houston for my Dad's 70th b-day. It was HEINOUS!!!!!! Don't get me wrong, I adore...

Hey hun smile I'm feeling alot better and my anxiety has calmed down a bit I'm trying not to be so stressed but still have gotten a couple bad pamnic attacks! BUT HAPPY HUMP DAY!Hope your having a wonderful start to your week! Enough about me How are you?!
ash:
Ha! If you think not posting for a few days is inconsistent, then try being ME! Ive been here for years and still cant seem to get this "regular posting" thing down!

Im so glad to hear that you and K get to go on a relaxing vacation, away from your work and away from all responsibilities completely! Please try to think of me when you're out there ... because if you do that ... perhaps your thoughts will teleport out my way and rub off on me and cause ME to relax!

Im sad to hear you'll be missing flux. I dont know what id do if my best friend moved away, but then again I really only have one friend, so that would devistate meto no end! Not that having multi-friends will cause it to hurt any less. Just try to keep in touch and visit as often as you can. smile Now you'll have a reason to visit cali!

So, let's see what I've been up to lately. Got the new furniture in our living room. It looks fabulous, now we just need to break it in. smile

We've been going to the Hurricanes' hockey playoff games and having a great time with that.

Mmmm....okay, I'm sure there's got to be more than that that we've been doing, but this is about all I can...

Hey hun - long time no chat. We have been pretty busy here on this end of things with Petes work, My work and trying to plan Petes birthday weekend (which is half a suprise for him). Just wanted to say that my account is going to be running out on here in a while so email and phone are probably the best way to keep in contact - I think that after Pete gets back from his next deployment we are heading out that way FINALLY!! Hope that we can convince you guys to come to Disneyworld with us biggrin

I hope that you guys are happy and healthy - miss talking to you frown

Love youkiss

So I should know in the first week of July if I am officially moving to Raleigh...I'd say I'm pretty sure that I am but I will def keep you posted.

Random question, do you know with whom Flux and other NCSGs get to shoot their sets for them?
