Im going to florida for 2 weeks .. in abt a week.
That yellow n black spider can either be called a banana spider or a blk and yellow argiope. I had no idea they had them up here in chicago ... actually, Id be quite surprised if they did. They like warm humid climates. at least banana spiders do, I dont know abt blk and yellow argiopes. one is an orb web spider ... and yeah ... its very likely that it spun a web that large at your house. Apparenytly their webs are very large and extravigent.
