I'm 90% sure that our treatment of all of the "side stuff" in GTA IV says a lot about how we interact with those things in real life. I haven't watched TV in the game once, maybe because I haven't watched TV regularly in years. I don't check my email nearly as frequently as I should, either in game or in real life.
I just spend most of my time running around doing the main story missions and...erm... grinding rep with "friends."

I rarely look at sets anymore, and if I do it's usually 5 pictures from the set, and then I get bored.
I'm actually a bit jealous that you've been about these parts for so long, I didn't find it till late '03 and by '05 I wanted to strangle some people for ruining the old fashioned smart fun.

I had the opposite feeling recently when I went out and I was one of the only people not old enough to drink. I just felt really young and afraid I came off as immature.
