I'll be going grey for about a month or so. I've just got way too much work - and right now this site is where I always go when I need to procrastinate.

Hasta luego!

It's not necessarily the ka-pow that I'm looking for. I want to find something more light and minimal. I don't know if you know anything about minimal techno or not, but I absolutely love it. The sound that inspired that journal entry was like a slow rolling rhythm with a sequence of sounds dancing on top of it. the sounds resembled melody, but it was more like pieces of different melodies leading into each other one after another. It would come close to the rhythm, almost close enough to be overtaken, but then it would back away again. It was very subtle, it really drew me in and stole all of my attention.

Thanks for the Birthday Wishes! biggrin

I always thought the Mic was hidden in his Saxaphone bit. That little thing hanging around his neck. I listened to the commentary on the DVD hoping to get an answer. Well, of course it's the 70's flick cliche "We'll never know". Indeed.

House of Leaves is a fine interesting book. My friend I lent it to kept it in the closet when he was done reading it he was so scared of it.

Try Ali: Fear Eats the Soul as far as Fassbinder is concerned.. or the Marriage of Maria Braun.

Our technology has not developed a transmitter strong enough to reach your conscious mind...

Dude what movie is that from? I heard it in the intro part of Marilyn Mansons cover of "Down In The Park".

And thank you for that whole Radio Free explanation. It was actually helpful.

The playlist wasn't for any radio station. It's just an MP3 playlist on my comp in my home so I can just hit "random/shuffle" and let the good times roll. I called it RADOFREEUSA b/c I felt liberated now that I had complete and total control over what sort of songs would be randomly coming out of my speakers.

Actually I really like the idea of "broadcasting from a free part of the US to parts that aren't free'. That's kind of what the playlist would be about if it were to ever get on the air. Don't worry about it being a "n00b" explanation, I'm very glad you stopped by with it. It honestly made me like the name I picked out for it that much more. biggrin

"Spring, love, happiness!" this oak seemed to say. "Are you not weary of that stupid, meaningless, constantly repeated fraud? Always the same and always a fraud! There is no spring, no sun, no happiness! Look at those cramped dead firs, ever the same, and at me too, sticking out my broken and barked fingers just where they have grown, whether from my back or my...

Something is burning, baby, are you aware?
Something is the matter, baby, there's smoke in your hair
Are you still my friend, baby, show me a sign
Is the love in your heart for me turning blind?

You've been avoiding the main streets for a long, long while
The truth that I'm seeking is in your missing file
What's your position...

A web that consists mainly of documents in XML format, with APIs from super nodes which carry various metric values - a low metric and it jumps up in the queue. Paying a higher micropayment fee also allows script to jump the queue. All formatting is with the APIs. Movement to a more centralized internet.

Cop: And was there anything of value in the car?
Dude: Huh? Oh. Yeah. Tape deck. Couple of Creedence tapes. And there was a, uh... my briefcase.
Cop: In the briefcase?
Dude: Papers. Just papers. You know, my papers. Business papers.
Cop: And what do you do, sir?

Bought a shitload of records over the past week because of a record sale and because I was bored.

The same way that there is now an artificial shortage of diamonds in the world, will it soon be possible to create an artificial shortage of information? Right now, it's taken for granted that among the documents retrieved from a search query on google a good chunk of them are valuable. However, what if you're an anthropologist invetigating current rites among young people...
