I'm off on a brand new wacky beer adventure. In November, I will head to Michigan to do something I've been meaning to do for awhile and visit some of my favorite MI breweries (full route here if you're actually interested).

Rough plan is (starting in Grand Rapids) to hit Dark Horse, Arcadia, Bell's, New Holland, the Livery & Founders (and possibly Kuhnhenn & Jolly...

You are correct sir, it's still the same place, just named after their founder. There is a lot of good beer in the state. Grizzly Peaks in Ann Arbor is a great place to have a meal and a beer or four.

I didn't notice that you commented on my blog or I don't remember what you're responding to, but anyway, good to see you and hope all is well, etc., etc.

Excellent news, bud! I'll have to ask my cousin what he thinks about it; he works for Landmark, I'm sure he saw it a while ago.

And you're a gem for saying something like that. Some people's reactions to that entry have been pleasantly surprising.

I've always powered through rough times here. I'm tired of them being so frequent. I think a move would, at the very least, prove whether it's me or the city that's rough.

it was a fun way to spend an hour or so. bats really isn't in it all that much, but if they'd titled it supergirl/superman: apocalypse it probably wouldn't have appealed to as many fanboys. and what little he is in it, kevin does a great job as usual.

Good times ahead soon. Next week, the girl and I head out to Colorado for the Great American Beer Festival, the largest beer event in the country. We're doing a few days in Denver (hitting, among others, Great Divide Brewing, Wynkoop & Dry Dock), then onto Boulder (for Avery Brewing, Mountain Sun & Twisted Pine) and Longmont (Oskar Blues & Left Hand Brewing and...

Thank you. I've made lifestyle changes instead of crazy dieting. I wish more people would understand that it just doesn't work.

No new blog in almost a month? And now when I do, it's pure, unmitigated self-promotion? For shame!

Well, anyhow - the trailer for my new film hit the web a few days ago, generating a healthy amount of buzz:

A highly anticipatory write-up from Entertainment Weekly, 'Freakonomics: the Movie Trailer Promises to Mess with your Mind.' EW also listed us in their Fall Movie...

Just got back from my cousin's wedding in New Jersey. Three full days worth of events, 95 degree heat and sweltering humidity, traditional Islamic affair with absolutely no booze. Man, do I ever wish I'd brought a flask.
toothpickmoe:
Sounds rough indeed.

Bruce has been a busy boy.
That does not sound like a fun experience.

I miss Strummer.

It went well.

When I got back the whole site was up in arms about the Twitter/Facebook buttons that are now a thing of the past.

My two college sports teams are Kansas (where I grew up) and USC (where I went to school). Can you guess what kind of week I'm having?
subrosa:
Probably could be better.
