Depends on the woman and the relationship. But, it should be something more sentimental than what you'd give for a birthday or Christmas, something more indicitive of your feelings for the other person.

Jewelry usually works best in my opinion.

I had an ex girlfriend who got a star named after her or Valentine's day and thought it was the greatest thing ever. I thought it was incredibly cheesy, and would never have thought to do something like that. Wierd, huh.

Worst thing you can do, is to do nothing, though.
