Devils in 7. But Gigguere gor the Conne Smythe. Didn't see THAT coming!

What else? Been reading The Jungle lately. First fiction in an incredibly long time. Thinking back, it was probably 1996 the last time I finished a book of fiction. Very neat though. I hit a wall with non-fiction. Nothing was working so well anymore.. I'd read it... understand it... but it was...

The Correct Answer is: NO. Don't Do It!

This month's Harpers has an outstanding article by Thomas Frank (author: One Market, Under God) on the White House's Proposed 2004 Budget. This is me asking two other people to read it.

I don't care who.

I have a lot more to say, but in the interest of discretion and restraint will stop here.

Hope everyone is...

I applied to U Florida for grad school for spring term. Not the political program though....although that does sound pretty interesting. Are you gonna go?

If you were in love, truly, deeply in Love, and knew that it could never work out... knew with every logical, rational impulse that you possessed that it was inevitible to bring everything down upon you, your whole world crashing down, would you follow it?
kurtz:

politrix:

HELP NEEDED:

The SockMonkey pic has to go. I'm just tired of looking at it.

Someone else framed that for me (got it the right size and stuff) as I am incredibly fucking DUMB with all things computer. If any among you hate the sock monkey as much as I do by now and wish to hook a brotha up... let me know.

So I'm thinking of taking an Independant study this fall.
Been looking around in the news for something of current interest to parallel something akin to the historical examples I have of lesser-known individuals who emerge at the intersection of action and ideology. Phillip Berrigan is a must, because I would just like to learn more about him, and he seems really amazing. Bonhoeffer, I...

You mean you would actually do work for the independent study? Most people slack, so that's admirable.
So the Guiliani book was published in 2000- I didn't realize that at the time. Pre 9/11 isn't as fun but so far it's bashing the crap out of him and mentioning all of his bad political ties. If you still want to borrow it you can!

It's never the right audience.

Never.

That's what I always tell myself, and I should really stop. I was invited tonight to speak at a benefit concert tomorrow night on current political/social issues. I don't know what it is that I'll end up speaking on, but I was realizing today that I always bitch silently to myself that the folks I'm speaking to are either...

It's so refreshing to read stuff like this on here.

But nobody ever seems to appreciate it. I feel like I'm waisting my time.

alright... 13 hours of uninterupted sleep, the end of ceremony and celebration... my brain is back to it's normal operating level and I can physically feel it. It's a good thing. I was getting exceptionally scattered there for the last week or more.

I'm cleaning my apartment today. I think that has to be a common experience that anyone who goes to school must share....
