"Your eyebrows are very profound."
"Wow, you almost look like a girl today!"
These are comments that I am not sure how to interpret. I realize that I tend to be fairly androgynous... but I don't want it to be a novel thing for someone to conceptualize of me as female. As for the eyebrow comment, I thought I was the only person in the...

Alright, I'm down for this life trading deal. But there are a few things that you have to do if you want to truly take my place for a week. This includes, but is not limited to, the following items:
- Feeding Deiter twice per day
- Obsessively checking email when near a computer
- Hanging on the stoop and watching people "parallel park" into each other's bumpers
- Spending enough booze money at the Lost & Found Lounge to put the bartendress through college
- Making it (somehow) to the truck stop at 3AM for post-drinking breakfast
- Indulging in daily acts of ritualistic self-pleasure
This list is subject to change at any time without prior notice. Think you can handle it?

Today has been full of smiles...
A special girl got my package of caring in the mail.
I had an unexpected visitor.
I'm working on a draft of my master's thesis proposal about which I am emminently excited.
There was some kind of hydroelectric tower thing running when I got out of class today that I had never noticed before.
I cooked dinner.

Thanks for the words... you're probably right about waiting things out. Sometimes it takes someone not directly involved in a situation to see things clearly.
Sounds like you had a great day.

One of my favorite things about being a student was blowing off the whole day, getting drunk, and sleeping it off.
And freddyg, you should never feel bad about drinking alone. Sometime it's much better than the bars. If it makes you feel better, I'm going to finish off the few beers left from this weekend.
OT should join us, if she has any drinking stamina left, and we can all get drunk together online.

I acknowledge that there are people in the world who are smarter than I am... who have more objective opinions than I do... etc. However, I refuse to be addressed in a way that denies my personhood... denies the validity of my position on certain topics.
I refused to be manipulated in a way that acknowledges my being some kind of second class citizen.
Grr....

I've found that it's often the smartest people who are the least able to conduct discussions without being asses about it. Care to go into details?
freddyg:
intelligence counts for nothing, and i mean that, nothing. its nice to be smart and all, but it doesnt necessarily lend itself to being a decent human being.
makes me wonder about the world. why are there people like that?

Oh man, rejection is better than a trip to Disneyland! It is like a big pink cupcake....with sprinkles.

Lots of movies.
I watched Igby Goes Down, Lost in Translation and Punch-Drunk Love this weekend. They were all quite good and almost make me feel bad for cancelling my Netflix membership. I decided to cancel, though, because I will spend less if I actually have to go out and rent the movies. Besides, I've got to pay the SG subscription.

Well, I never would have realized you had replied to my comment in your journal if you hadn't written a completely unrelated reply to me. It's a touchy situation.
Sorry about that - I hope you don't hold grudges over a social faux pas.
On the relaxation front, I have found an appropriate outlet other than freddyg. I've done a lot since Saturday night. I might be done tomorrow, but I still reserve the right to freak out.

not the weight of the world, just the weight of one small company
sounds like a great test to be taking, 67% aye? thats tough right there
if yer taking external input about the spring break thing, i vote for a tour of the PCH, sounds like a fabulous way to spend a week.
damn i miss spring break
btw: justin got all pissy on me about the "not putin' out" thing, and went and found himself a chick to replace me.

I'm such a tool.
I haven't struck anyone in anger in about eight years. I did tonight. My feelings were supremely hurt and my reaction was to lash out. I don't understand that and I really don't like it.
I think I want to cry now.

Sometimes a situation gets so intense that you revert to primal instincts. And you can't argue with your glands.
The bad part is that your rational half still has to deal with the consequences. Hope you get through it all right.

Yeah I really wish people would grow up and start acting their age. I hope every thing works out for you with the anger.
Some times I just wonder if the world is only full of assholes.

Six days into the bathroom fiasco and I'm told I have another four to go. Fuckin ridiculous. Smelly men inviting themselves into my bedroom everyday for the past six is not my idea of happy goodness. No no no. At least my sink is back in place. Woohoo, I can brush my teeth again.
Anyway, I watched the Apprentice with my roommates tonight. Man, that...

No O.C., your missing out.
-and yeah, I am opposed to buying skateboards online. I worked in that industry for a long time and online companies really screw things up for local shops.
Sorry about your bathroom.

I'm feeling better about the world today. I'm a little more secure in schoolthings. Now my mission is to comprehend just how much I have to do in the next year so I can get my Master's degree.

hey, yeah that stuff is mine, its all a couple years old, i havent taken shots of any of my recent stuff. i've moved more into furniture, although a big part of my education was in jewelry and ceramics as well.

I like your music choices.

I want to drive out to the southwest (preferably NM, but AZ will do), set up camp somewhere isolated out in the desert with a lot of water, a little food, an array of intoxicants, and just hang out for a day or two. Hiking would be good at some point. Do you know anywhere a guy could do that without too much human contact?
