so he thinks all that is important is god? and we're all just aspects of god...but how does he describe/define god? according to most, god is supposed to be divine. does he disagree? if not, how would spinoza justify evil? i think i'm going to try to read one of those books when i get a chance. turns out i was supposed to read carnap not benacerraf...i wrote the wrong paper, and as a penalty, i have to write another ontop of the carnap paper. fun fun fun. my benecerraf paper is werthless...ahhhh. all that for nothing. oh well. at least i finally got to understand what the fuck this guy was talking about. surprisingly, i'm doing really well in that class. i got a b on the first paper, which i totally fucked up...we were supposed to write about the relation between forms and objects and draw a conclusion. i just drew a conclusion, and since he liked it, he gave me a b and told me to turn the rest in later. i just got my paper on time back and i got an a- on it. yay! and he was likesaying how these other kids said some stupid ass shit. it's funny how a freshman can outdo juniors with much more experience under their belts

I have seen Black Belt Jones, a while back. If memory serves, it's actually a decent action flick, as opposed to most blaxploitation, which is just bad. I should watch it again soon.
I remember the Hunger Artist being a good story. I first read Metamorphosis in a really bad translation, so I've never fully appreciated it.

Oh yeah, about dates: usually I end up dating people I already kind of know, so we have a chance to screen each other a little bit. Being in a new city, that's not an option, so I'm surprised I've been having somewhat good luck!

i could think of many things better, but that's just me. i've never read kafka, and my philosophy teacher mentioned spinoza the other day, although i'm not sure who he is, what he stood for, etc. i read candide back in the day. did you read cyranno de bergerac? i enjoyed it. i have to go read my metaphysics assignment now, i think the guy's name is mctaggart. it's prolly more on time and shit...ugh, what an awkward concept.

sociology is fucking awful...i mean, i sit and argue with the kids in class all period long. (oh yeh, i'm a freshman, and this will be my last sociology class) the kids are so stupid, and they say such stupid shit. and i already understand the nature of the class, so i don't feel that i really need to go further into it...i mean, the terms and sociologists is where i fuck up. i haven't opened my book once, oh wait, yes i did, but then i closed it. so i got a 17/30 on the test i took the other day, but i dominate the discussion in class daily. i guess i'm pretty militant when it comes to those other kids, but i feel that i need to be, i can't let them say these things out of ignorance and let them think it's ok...my teacher smirks everytime i raise my hand. either she's preparing to laugh at me, or or she's getting excited to hear how i'm going to go about throwing these idiots' comments in the trash, where they belong. maybe i'm making her job easier, or maybe i'm being cocky, but i think i'm on point.
anyway, tell me a bit about spinoza, if you will. i'm interested.

So...how's your grade in that class?
The movie is pretty old, and I don't think it's on DVD yet, but it shouldn't be too hard to find on video. It did actually play here a week or two ago as a midnight movie, but I missed it.
