OK, I'm not at yoga.

I found a place to go that sounds fun (Monkey Yoga? Oh, yeah!) and is affordable and near enough to my house that I can get there after work in time for the last class.

And then this head cold crashed in on me.

I still kinda wanted to go, but it's going to be awkward enough being the new...

Yay for me! I found a therapist I like!

This is really good news. I feel like I got about ten times more figured today than at the last try, and this guy is all about letting me work on my own in between sessions. He's got an iconography and fascination with symbols that makes great sense to me. And when we talked about meds...

When I was a child, my grandmother had a button box. If you are not familiar with the concept, it was a big old metal candy tin filled with hundreds of buttons, mostly unmatched. I loved the button box. It was one of my favorite things. I spent hours upon hours looking through the buttons, arranging them by color or shape or size, dreaming about...

Like so many others who already commented, my granny had one too. She also had two or three old cigar boxes filled with cloth scraps, from which she would build quilts. When I was home for Thanksgiving, she showed me about 6 quilt tops that simply needed finishing. Industrious old lady, that one.

So, since I've gotten a huge amount of feedback from other people who have made the "I will get therapy this year" New Year's resolution, I thought I would post this link: Psychology Today therapist finder.

Because these people have no fucking idea how to advertise. They have no websites. (Really? In this day and age?)

There is almost no way to tell from...

I go to a Psychologists i go to a psychiatrist to get medeicated. I doo think its sucks,., unfortunately what I do is trial and Error and unfortunately when both have different shools of thought it can mess with you when yourr getting contradicive advice. Latly I hate being medicated anyway It helped when was having a dark time of it and tried to hurt myself but now Its just hazetty but I do think the psychologist does help just to get shit off your chest . I know it sound dumb but it does work mine also does cognative behavior therapy wich is helpfull with not soi much depression but irrational thoughts and anxiety disorders with I have in spades... I hope this was a bit helpful if not just ignore me like everyone else..be well in what ever you choose.. blush

There is a pile of birthday presents on my couch and no one to give them to.

And yet, I feel a bit lighter today.

Funny, how just making a decision can start to lighten things. Even when things suck. Choosing a direction and moving is way fucking better than sitting around waiting for the rain to stop.

(Look. I made "no one" two words....

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement, advice, and support. It's really nice to hear how many of you have been through similar things, and that the route I'm choosing to take is one that has actually worked and worked well for you.

Thanks, y'all.

My heart is broken and I have noone to blame but myself.

Once upon a time, there was someone who loved me and treated me better than anyone ever has.

So I punched him. In public. On New Years Eve. For something he not only hadn't done, he hadn't given me any reason to even think he would do.

Why, you may ask, would I...

I've been there and done that. I can relate to watching my internal self-destruction eat the best relationship I ever had from the inside out. But there's always a silver lining. Therapy, no matter the stigma attached, is the BEST option. I went to a great psychologist for 10 months and it was the best decision I ever made. I'm a better and much happier person for it. I think you will be too. smile

Keep us posted on how you do. We're all rooting for you. Best of luck.

I am currently housesitting. Which is awesome, because the house is full of tiny dogs. Also elderly cats, but they aren't nearly as awesome. However, it is also terrible because there is NO INTARWEB.

I actually drove home to use a computer.

Addiction, anyone?

As for the holidays, mostly they make me homesick. I'm a nomad mostly, an normally I like that. But for some...

their leaving the US is fine, but then they should pay all the social security and other funds they are receiving back as well, then we put up a fence around the area, make them get visa's to travel to the United States, declare their currency worthless, put high import taxes on everything they export and charge higher prices to ship to them as it now has to go thru customs and inspections. While we have not treated them correctly according to the treaties, this method is about as intelligent as the Presidents strategy in Iraq.
cunninglinquist:
I agree with your comments to me, but fucking them with no vaseline or with a barbed wire brush is more like it.
If they were to declare themselves a soverin nation, then nationalize all the businesses, the mineral and oil and get away with it they would have a chance, but Bush and his friend would never allow that.
