One of these days I am going to overdose on cereal. puke
E and I are going to sign the lease on the new apt today. puke
Apparently, I'll be doing nothing but puking today. puke
That and running gels so I can sequence like 200 genes in the hopes of isolating 8. robot

Sorry to hear about your cereal woes! frown

I'm just fortunate to have the odd combination of high metabolism and a sense of masochism (at least when it comes to getting my ass out to run/work out despite hangovers or the like). It's nothing to be proud of, that's for sure. Some people are all about losing weight... I wish I could gain a pound or two. wink

Besides, I can't imagine this will last more than another year or two. At some point I'll have to give up the Peter Pan Lifestyle and start living the Ikea dream. robot

How's your new apartment looking? Isn't moving fun?.... wink
lil_billy_ben:
You're a biologist, you know puking serves a porpous.

Please, boys, please! eeek tongue
Ha, I don't know what was up last night at King's gym, but I got winked at and hella stares from the boys. I try to keep a smile on most of the time, but after a while it's like, "what the fuck are you looking at me for??" We got there late, so it was pretty empty by the...

Running with a weighted vest? That sounds like some form of torture. I usually run for less time, 50 minutes would kill me, I think. Very impressive. biggrin

I second what papawheelie said - the fire trails are great, I used to run up there as well. It's a pretty long run, but the view is fantastic and you don't have to dodge traffic.
phoebus:
Good job on the run. smile

I hadn't gone running in a while (part of another flawed attempt to throw on another pound or two, which never happens with my metabolism), so I was kind of hurting running the base perimeter yesterday.

Still, 9 miles, with an 8 minute pace ain't bad... but then again, I wasn't boxing last night either. wink

Greek worry beads? Are they supposed to make worries disappear?

And your lab sounds much cooler than mine. I put on a little trance music and everyone starts freaking out, I can't imagine what would happen if I played Type-O-Negative.

And shit, you just reminded me that I have to do my taxes.

Hola! Que tal Amiga? We have got alot to chat about now! Don't worry too much Chula, things will look up if they haven't started already...here (( kiss )) Lets set up a chisme session soon k? Buenas Noches.

There's an Indian food place here in Berkeley that has a buffet. It's pretty good, and tomorrow night my friends and I are going to get buffet option #6: an hour and a half of buffet + all you can drink (beer). We're hoping to get wasted. biggrin I love the fact that I'm going to run for an hour tomorrow, maybe do some sit-ups and...

Yes, people suck and I have the same issue- if I don't like someone I make it known to everyone!!! I have learned to be phony from all those years of waitressing, like I give a fuck thet your steak isnt' cooked like you like it!!! Ha! But if you wanna get paid you play the game!

Remember, you can catch more fly's with honey! And you will most likely get what you want if you go about it the right way!

I've been taking some steroid for the past 4 days for my allergies and I feel like a friggin giant oaf!! You'd have to be crazy to pop them things voluntarily.

I saw your comment in gramsci's journal. As someone who was MCB at Berkeley as well (I'm assuming that's what you were or are doing) I can say that it gets a lot more interesting at the grad level. I'm in the 3rd year of my PhD and it's way better than it was ever was at the undergrad level. Just thought I'd give you some encouragement. smile
gramsci:
I just got to a point after travelling around and then working in the UK when I had to reassess what I wanted from life. Ive got a politics degree and have done the whole working for Government thing, I even joined the Labour Party over here to get involved. But in the end I really havent enjoyed either. So I thought Id better get into my real passion before its too late.

Ive heard that school fees in the US are really high, how do people afford to continue through to post-grad without wealthy parents? In NZ its all State subsidised, with State loan to pay the %20 of the fees you have to pay, as well as a weekly allowance from the Sate,so you only need to work a few hours, if at all.

Whoa, the fights were so great, I wish I could go tonight and tomorrow night, too! blackeyed blackeyed biggrin People from our gym have had mixed success - some won, some lost. Then, there were the ones whose fighters wouldn't fight them or who dropped out on their own. Oh well.
There was this one guy, Fabian, who was awesome! He's kind of a big dude (looks like...

I miss being a total jerk. Lately, I've been nice to people and minimally a cynic. This isn't sitting well with me.

Jaysus, it's only Tuesday! At least St. Patty's is tomorrow! Will I be going out? Or will I stay home and cough myself to sleep? My friends are going to Beckett's... I think I need to go.

I'm planning on doing a 10K run on Saturday around Lake Merritt for Greek Independence Day... will I survive? There will also be walkers there, so I may...

I Read The News Today, Oh Boy
Holy cow, CalTech scientists have made a chip that can extract DNA from single cells! This is more relevant to workers in the medical field than to myself, but still fascinating.

My problem is I can't stop chewing that stuff once I get started! And I can't stand normal gum--it's gotta be that super-strong sour apple style stuff that rots your teeth... frown

Hence... apples. And yeah, go spoil yourself a little--you deserve it with all the ass-kicking you're putting in at the gym. wink
