i've had my nomad about 2 years. it started freezing up on me constantly about 6 months ago to where i couldn't hear 5 songs in a row without pulling the battary off and having it rebuid the library every time ( and that took about 5 minutes). i thought maybe it was because i had so much music on it (20G on the 40G) but wasn't it supposed to hold up to 40G anyways?
well, about a month ago it started having to rebuid the library every time i turned it on (now i have about 9G on it) and even sometimes randomly while i'm listening to it. i've downloaded new software to it, reset it and reloaded music onto it. no luck.
maybe i just got a bad one. i hope you don't have any trouble with yours. i loved mine to death until it started acting all shady.
