I had a really nice weekend. Sent my son off to summer camp, which made me just a tiny bit sad, and then went to the Phoenix Art Museum. They have a Surrealist art exhibit going on right now and it is really fabulous! I had the nicest time. Started by having lunch and a glass of remarkably tasty cheap white zin and then made...

- These words meant nothing -

sometimes I find it more pertinent to say something, than to say something meaningful. How horrible is that?

....I'm not much of an art person myself, but I do like that piece.

How long's the kiddo at camp for?

NEVER have your items shipped with DHL!!

My ungodly expensive machine was delivered today. The box looked like a freight train had hit it and the machine is busted, the foam blocks which held it are all smashed to pieces. I have filed an insurance claim on it but because of the high dollar value they have to have an ajduster come out and look...

Holy shit! That's like something out of a cartoon, and that is NOT acceptable. I'm sure I don't have to tell you to MAKE SURE they know it's not acceptable either. I mean, you're right, that's just almost embarassing. Effing horrible.... seriously. I'm sorry darlin. Now go take it out on all the DHL bastards you'll be encountering. Let them HAVE IT.
xoxo!!
zahra:

I'm an idiot. This is not in response to any one event but a general blanket statement about my life. Nothing ever big, but all of those times when I said the wrong thing, came off too harsh, couldn't shut up and helplessly watched myself talk myself right into a hole, every word like a shovel full of dirt burying me deeper and deeper into...

Ahhh, yes...emotional sluttiness.

I'm a massive perpetrator.

I realize just when I'm saying it that it should stop. Now. But I just keep going...and going...

...and going...

Cheap, yes. Used... no. I'm sorry you're feeling not-so-great. Sometimes I wish there was a hug machine that we could all have installed in our houses for those times when we need to have a great big hug.

(I can see the headline: Hug machine murders seven due to faulty release mechanism.... how horrible. Why did I ruin it for myself.)

Anyways, Feel better if you can, k?

Antiviolence

I'm reposting this for those who have not seen it. It is pretty fucked up the times we live in and how little help the police are. I'm all for this and am looking into making some stuff to donate to the show.

Are there any nationally recognized bands who may be interested in licensing me your name and logo to embroider onto a...

I just put my neck on the line and bought a really expensive embroidery machine. All on credit of course smile

I have spent the last few days cleaning and reorganizing my house to make room for it. It cost more than my first two cars combined and will do everything but wash the dishes and give head.

I installed lots of shelving this weekend and...

Hey, I just bought 120 spools of thread cheap on eBay - $99 + $20 for shipping. Look for radiantthreads. So many colors I don't know what the heck I'm going to do with them all! biggrin

A couple of months ago I had the Kirby vacuum sales people force their way into my home with the promise of a 20 min demonstration which of course lasted more like 1.5 hours. They put paper disk after paper disk on a specialized attachment on the cleaner and then kept sucking on the same spot over and over showing me all of the dirt...

question....

I knokw that you had said some things about dreadfalls when I asked about them earlier. I still don't know very much about them. Is it possible to get dbl ended dreads with long hair? All the people I normally see wearing them have shorter hair and my hair is about 16 " long right now.

please help!!!!! I'm an idiot when it comes to anything fashion/hair related.

A week ago, I was visiting my parents, helping out moving some furniture around. They still have the ol' Kiby and it still works considering it's over 30 years old.

My dad died of cancer when I was 11. My wife's dad died when she was 12. He was crushed in the mines. I hope I live to see my boys at least graduate from high school.
chairtamer:
I'm sorry about your father; I sympathize. Having a parent die puts you in the place that they once occupied, in some sense, especially as a parent yourself. Don't be surprised if you find yourself getting up to ask him something and have to remind yourself that he's not there (for about the next year).

It's like a scene from "The Lost Boys"... except they're not punks, but flappers... and chics.

I'd watch it.

Love the idea of what your doing. The photos are great with the history and all the meaning they hold. My father as well means a lot to me, and I'm fortuanate he is still with me. He's living in the next state, but I try to get over there monthly. Awesome to see your heart so deep and I wish you all the best with your project.

I agree about bad venues. They can really ruin a show. And now I wear earplugs when I go out, because I'm getting old, too.

You make some really interesting and nice clothing. It makes me wish I was a girl so I could wear it. Well, almost.
jamisunlee:
a few years back i started to wear ear plugs to shows; not to save my hearing, however. I found that i could actually hear the music better that way, rather than all the distortion
