I'd say it stems from the fact that (here comes some knee-jerk (the jerk being me for assuming to understand this situation, the knee being compleatly metaphoric, so stop reading into it you jerks) pop-psychology. You're very outspoken, which introspective introverted guys (of which I sometimes count myself among, and whom I suspsect make up no small fraction of the male population of SG) view with distane based partly on coming from the opposite ethos, and also partly from the attention it seems to get the outspoken person in question, which causes which is chicken and egg, but they both fuel eachother none the less.
You're probably a nice guy, I know I had the instant "what an egotistical ass" reaction too, but I think I can see through it now. Glad I checked out your journal, I'll have to drop by again.
