I need to keep telling myself that sitting around the house naked, eating pickled ginger straight from the jar and playing MMOs doesn't count as an occupation.

Hmm. Didn't get the palmistry job.

I was rejected solely because of my numerology. Go figure.

The profile she worked out was completely inaccurate, anyway. Hmm. At least she didn't claim to be a second-generation good psychic.

I mean, I consider palmistry to be a parlor trick. She believes in the healing power of crystals. I don't think it would have worked out, anyway.

Yeah, probably just as well. I mean, you'd have to keep correcting her readings. I hope you had a good weekend. Mine was....anticipatory. wink

I've been applying for all kinds of crazy under-the-table jobs on Craigslist.

1. Shoeshine girl
2. Person who walks around in a grape costume
3. Palmist for parties and other events.

Pretty nifty, eh?

(By the way, if you ever want a palmist for a party in the Toronto area, send me a poke. I've been doing it for six years and I'll work fairly...

Am I the only one who thinks that Confessions of a Wallflower isn't the best book ev4r omgomgomg?

Even when I was the target audience, I still thought it read like angsty, contrived, heavy-handed Catcher In The Rye fanfiction.

Just had to get that one out there.

I enjoyed it until I DID read The Catcher In the Rye. Salinger was so hardcore.
lycoris:
I haven't read it, and I never liked Catcher in the Rye. The first time I read it I didn't understand what he was complaining about. (I was too young.) I was all like "get over yourself" when I read it in high school and was old enough to understand what he was whining about.

Is anyone around here good at reasoning with nerves? I've got one that needs a good talking to.

Seriously.

Sciatica is hell.

Like you, I am a random nice human user.

God. I need to stop being such an obnoxious, self-satisfied pedant.

I'll get over it soon and it'll be back to my old diet of Neopets and sanctimony.

Harry Potter was completely amazing.

The best part was afterward, though. I made an eleven-year-old kid's day by letting him wear my crushed velvet cloak all the way to his friend's birthday party.

I love making people happy.

Hs. I love how bizarrely incomprehensible the world is when you're sick and haven't slept.

Everything seems like a profound revelation.

"Whoa! That's a METAPHOR!"

"Haha, It's a made-up thing! It's a joke!"

"Soylent green is PEOPLE!"

I'm such a morbid fuck.

When I was a kid, I was a complete bookworm. I used to read three or four books simultaneously. I wish I still had the attention span for that.

One of the books I picked out for myself when I was nine was The Midnight Club by Christopher Pike. For those of you who don't know, he writes (wrote?) young...

gotta like a "juvie author" who takes his name from a Star Trek captain. I still enjoy reading his books for a laugh as my daughter loved them after she "graduated" from the Goosebumps series
